New media is assigned incorrect added date/time

New to the Emby world - coming from Plex.

Ive added a few new movies to my system since moving to Emby and each time they are tagged with the incorrect date/time added. I just added a film that says I added it “7/24/2022 4:10AM”

What is going on here?

What do you have set under 'Library' > 'Advanced' tab

My first guess is it using the 'creation' date of the file you just imported.

Oh wow- yes that’s probably it! I’m shocked “use file creation date” is the default.

Actually, is there a way to update the previously-imported files to use the date of import as their date added?

No, you'll need to either re-add them again, or manually update their metadata (right click Edit Metadata) and change the added date in Emby.
