"Skip" functionality of D-Pad on remote is no longer working properly

Apparently a recent update has broken the direction pad functionality on my remote. Normally during playback, left d-pad would skip back and right d-pad would skip forward, and when the buttons were held, skipping would repeat until released. My GUI is set to "auto" mode, so it appears when there is a user interaction and it disappears a short time after interactions stop. Currently, a single skip forward or backward will happen when the d-pad is pressed, but as soon as the GUI appears, the skip functionality no longer works. Only when the GUI disappears will the d-pad forward/backward skip work again. This behavior blocks the d-pad both when it is held and also when there are multiple presses. Meanwhile, the d-pad navigation around the playback GUI works as expected
