TCEmby1 8 Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 I have 1 audio book series that works -- they are in .opf, and .m4b format. The other books that are simply mp3's are not able to be identified. I can view folders and simply play the mp3s but there is no data and I cannot list the library as 'books' because only the 1 book series shows up. Library is set up as other/unstructured media. Do I have to change the mp3 format?
Luke 42081 Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Hi, do they have embedded metadata in the files such as album, artist and albumartist?
Solution TCEmby1 8 Posted December 15, 2023 Author Solution Posted December 15, 2023 Solved---I guess a simple mp3 file will not be recognized as a book. I had to convert them to m4b files and now they are treated like books.

TCEmby1 8 Posted December 15, 2023 Author Posted December 15, 2023 Hm There wasnt a clear way to embed the metadata into the mp3, converting them to m4a with a separate app was just easier. 1

Google a free, simple program called "Mp3Tag". It will do exactly what you need, with multiple mp3 files at a time, without having to convert your audiobook. 1 1
TCEmby1 8 Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 Great--Thank you! Getting ready for a trip and give kids a tablet with Emby and need to make many mp3s into audiobooks. 1
