scanner50 8 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I noticed that MBS wasn't running so I tried to start it up, nothing happened. I then tried to install the beta from the website, and it would download and then do nothing. I also tried this after restarting my PC and still no go. This is on Windows 8.1 x64. Help!

jriker1 20 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) For me it's a bit different. First time this happened on an update and tried running as an Admin as well. I get the following after you run setup and it downloads and starts to install the update: Could not move system directory to backup. System.IO.IOException Access to the path 'C:\Users\jriker\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\System' is denied. Obvious error but as mentioned tried running as admin and same deal. scanner50 8 Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 Sure, it was actually something of my own doing. The log mentioned that it couldn't access the config folder. At some point I had moved MBS' config folder to OneDrive and used a symlink in it's AppData/Roaming folder to connect the two. I forgot I did that and had renamed my MBS OneDrive folder, breaking the link. Once I fixed the symlink, it installed just fine.
