usersuper23 1 Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Hi all, I have been using Emby to much satisfaction for years. However, after this recent update (well my server received it on the 26th) my Emby will not fully connect to Chromecast anymore. From my iOS 16.6 phone, I open app, click Chromecast icon, my TV changes to "Ready to Cast" with the logo. However, my phone app stays on the spinning circle, and the Chromecast icon does not go solid. If I go on desktop and click the Chromecast button, my only option is "iPhone - Emby for iOS"....while my TV is still showing "Ready to cast". If I 'right click' on the page and click cast through my browser, my living room TV pops up fine, Youtube and Youtube TV apps (from my iphone) connect and play videos fine. This all started as soon as my server updated to 4.7.14.0 Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated

Azzablitz 1 Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Hi I have the exact same issue when trying to cast from an iPhone or iPad.It appears to have only started since the recent upgrade to my Emby server. I don’t have access to my server logs right now but will add them ASAP. Thanks
myqe 2 Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 (edited) Hi, Some of my friends have the same exact issue after updating the emby app on Iphone. Looks like only Apple devices have this problem. If anyone need server logs let me know. edit: Emby server version:4.7.13.0 OS: TrueNAS-SCALE-22.12.3.1 Mike Edited August 30, 2023 by myqe

I'm using Emby iOS 2.2.14 with the current firmware for my Chromecast (3rd Gen as well as Ultra) and my iPad isn't picking up either device. Any ideas? I'm also in Canada and the server I'm connecting to is in the US, not sure if that is causing the issues?

Please note there weren't any chromecast specific changes. I would check and make sure the Emby iOS app is granted local network access on your device.

Ahhh I'm not an Apple user (it's my partner's device) and I'm not familiar with the security settings. Thanks for your help! For others, on your iOS Device, it's in Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Local Networks, then toggle on Emby. 2
