Hnguyen240 0 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 (edited) I've recently been having problems with playback from my TV with built in Android TV. I'm able to open the app, navigate through my library with no issues, there are SOME files that play smoothly and without issues. Then there are other files that seem to lock-up on the first second of playback and in the dashboard I can see the file being looped back, it will play from 0 - 8 seconds, and then reset back to 0 and run that same loop, the entire time, both video and audio are not being played on the TV. The strangers part about this.. is that the same files can be played on other devices, including TV's of the same brand. We own 3 Hisense TV's with Android TV built in, 2 of the 3 play anything I want with no issues, however this TV seems to be particular about the files it will play. I've also tested on PC browser and through the Phone App, I also hosted the files on another computer and was able to recreate the same issue (playing back on all except one device). At one point I was receiving a message of "Too many errors. Giving up" - I formatted the entire TV at that point but unfortunately, this made no difference. I've attached the relevant server log as well as the last few FFMPEG files, however I'm not sure how relevant they are as they aren't updated when I run tests. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-directstream-88d53b52-901f-43aa-b991-25be2568f232_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-21db30e3-f031-4233-af18-78d0073d8935_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-ec168afb-a3aa-49a0-8e7e-a49bfb5aa844_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-f98364b7-a5af-493b-a321-b84880083ece_1 (1).txt ffmpeg-transcode-f98364b7-a5af-493b-a321-b84880083ece_1.txt Edited August 27, 2023 by Hnguyen240

ebr 16182 Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Can you please play that item for a few seconds and then follow the instructions to send a log from the app?
Hnguyen240 0 Posted August 28, 2023 Author Posted August 28, 2023 Hi Ebr - thanks for your reply. I just sent a log in now here is the required info: Action: Playing back a TVShow/Anime file name: [Yameii] Buddy Daddies - 01 [English Dub] [WEB-DL 1080p] [2F525543].mkv I opened the APP on my TV as I would normally and started playing from my library. Time (EST): 9:55AM Name of the Emby User was: Harry and Rose Just confirming again that the video was unable to play and just froze at the first frame.
Hnguyen240 0 Posted August 31, 2023 Author Posted August 31, 2023 Are there any additional steps I could be taking to troubleshoot this issue? I haven't heard back regarding the log sent through the app. I appreciate your time!
ebr 16182 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Hi. Sorry for the delay. If you turn off the subtitles, does that make a difference?
SlowZop 0 Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Try going to settings -> Playback and change audio output from auto to downmix
Solution Hnguyen240 0 Posted September 4, 2023 Author Solution Posted September 4, 2023 Hey everyone thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate the follow up. I was advised to try Jellyfin and it works across all my devices and platforms so I'm going to abandon my quest to find out why emby won't work on my one TV. Thanks everyone. Feel free to remove this thread.
Luke 42078 Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 @Hnguyen240 Hi. Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.
