I initially deleted emby on my synology nas but I have recently reinstated it and now I am having trouble setting it up where I am unable to log in.

Hi there, what exactly happens when you try?

My password is not being accepted.

I tried to login in from my synology nas and from my pc.

When I login from the pc into emby connect - I still get the same problem but then I can see my synology server and I also get the option to add server.

When I click onto my synology server I can see my username but when I input my password it states that my password or username is incorrect.

What password are you trying to use?

I'm not actually asking for the password, but rather, where did it come from? You need to use the username and password that you setup on your Emby Server installation, not your Emby forum credentials.

I haven't been able to set up my emby server on this current installation so haven't set up a username and password yet.

Well, I did have one set up before but I deleted that server on my synology nas.

I then decided to install the server again on my nas, so I am using the same login details.

It sounds like you did not have the 'new install' experience.  Were you prompted to create admin credentials when you installed it?  Or, after the install, did it put you in the login screen?

Yes, I did not experience the 'new install' and it would appear I was directed straight to the login screen.

Is it the same NAS as before? Try deleting the server's data folder, which you can locate by following this:

Emby Server Data Folder

Once you've done that, then try starting up the server again.

Hi, it is the same nas as before.

I had to SSH and found the data directory.

To ensure a fresh install I first deleted emby on the synology.

I then deleted the remaining files in the data directory.

The only directories I coundn't delete was: devices, livetv and ScheduledTasks

I reinstalled emby on my nas and still had the same problem with logging in.

What folder exactly did you delete?

Hi, success.

I deleted emby (again) from my synology nas

I then deleted a file in the config folder called system.xml

I reinstalled emby and it is now working.

I am now able to set-up emby.

Hi, this would suggest that you configured the server network settings in such a way that was causing the server to reject your connection attempts.
