"This Emby Server needs to be updated"

Keep getting this message whenever I'm trying to use Windows\Android app to connect to the server. I just installed the server so wasn't able to use any apps initially. The Website version - works perfectly

Used the "Latest" server from the website, then the Beta version (Version 4.8.0.39 beta). The same issue.

Then I thought maybe the problem with the client side. Tried older versions of Android apps, the newest, from google play, directly APK from the website = the same issue

Attached log. 192.168.88.249 - its the client which tried to connect from an Android phone. I hope it helps

The server and client on the same LAN, no VPN's\any strange routing. Just the same LAN

Hi, have you set a custom friendly name for your server? If so, try giving it a different name and see if that helps.

Quite a strange issue. Created a completely new VM, without any DNS records, works everything great now. Thanks

Having same issue now on iOS when using public IP
It was working a while back before

Although, it works with local IP when connected to OpenVPN
but I want direct access without VPN

server is at 4.7.14.0 and no updates in iPhone Apps

If I use Brave or Safari, it shows emby logo on a black screen and nothing else

no, but can I forward port 80 to 8920 like 8096, I mean port 80 to both 8096 and 8920?

8920 is the server https port, so if you haven't setup https, then why are you trying to use that port?

No, you'll have to use the http port if you haven't setup https.
