Importing iTunes playlists into Emby

I am trying to move years of playlists from iTunes to Emby.  I have kept the original songs in the current iTunes structure (which seems to meet Emby's media organisation requirements and Emby seems to recognise most tracks).

If I create a new playlist in Emby it creates a new folder suffixed "[playlist]" and includes an XML file

But when I try to export playlists from iTunes they are not picked up by Emby (either in XML, M3U and TXT).  If I save in a "[playlist]" suffixed folder Emby picks up the folder but doesn't recognise the playlist inside it.

When I look at the iTunes XML playlist export it is very different to the Emby generated XML playlist.

I admit to being completely out of my depth on this - is there an easy way to export playlists from iTunes to Emby?
