Im not sure if this is the correct place but I noticed on a couple of my movies that the chapters that were being shown belong to a totally different movie.

As and example we were watching Fast and the furiious but the chapters showing up on the player belonged to Tokyo Drift.

I was wondering how to fix this

Bespoke Chapters are imported from the original file - so worth checking that the original file is correct. (use mkvtoolnix etc)

If they are different to what Emby has - then just do a 'Refresh' metadata on that item (replace all) and it should re-import the chapters.  Re-Run the 'Thumbnail Image Extraction' task to re-generate the correct images for the new chapter times.

If no chapters exist - then Emby will just create them every 5 minutes - this will be the same for any movie that has no bespoke chapters.

Ok I tried everything that you said and yes its the correct file its strange durring the movie playback when you hover over the bar it shows a totally different movie as do the chapters list.

so far it has stayed that way after doing what you said to try

Try refreshing the metadata on both titles and see if that helps.

I tried refreshing the entire movie folder and nothing changed also the other title the chapters are from are correct on its page

Ok I just moved the file out of the folder and deleted all of its emby files nfo pics ect..

Rescaned the library and then added the movie agian and its the same issue its not making since

How are you certain that they’re from a different movie?

Ive seen these movies alot. you can hover over a part and shows a completley differnt scene of another movie

The actor in all the chapters isnt even in the first movie

How odd.

Delete the BIF file and then run a Metadata Refresh as shown below :-

Unless you have set the option above, the bIF files may be local - and I'm not sure how you can identify and delete that one ... 🤔

ok so after renaming the file which changed noting and refreshing the metadata which changed  nothing and restarting emby which again changed nothing

I downloaded the chapter plugin and restarted the server and now its showing the correct chapter info.

What chapter plugin?  Chapter support is a part of the core.

Chapter API

That doesn't really make any sense - as that Plugin just READS (and allows you to EDIT) the chapters from the Emby Core database - it does not read the chapters from the source file.

I believe it may have been the restart that fixed it - possibly with some cache issues that then got resolved.

Anyway it's fixed :)

It doesn't appear that the chapters were ever even a problem, it was just reading the wrong bif file.

Probably, yes. We'll try to chase this down. Thanks.
