Koenvdw 3 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Hi for some reason I was logged out on my emby server. (I'm admin) I didn't knew my password anymore, so I did a reset on the local machine. First looked for my user name in users.db so there were no mistakes there. Then did a reset. Got the txt with the pin in it. Followed the linked, entered the pin and then got the message that I should login with a blank password. When I try to login with my username and leave the password blank, I get the message: " Invalid username or password. Please try again." What should I do ?

I use my username and leave the pasword blank as mentioned in the message, but it doesn't work. Edited June 16, 2023 by Koenvdw
rbjtech 5345 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Hmm ok - I've never had to do this myself. @CarloIs there a chance something has changed re the security changes that no longer allows blank passwords even with a local Pin reset as per the Wiki ?
Solution Koenvdw 3 Posted June 16, 2023 Author Solution Posted June 16, 2023 Hi rbjtech Thanks for helping, I solved the problem. I was looking in the users.db file to find my username, and was looking at the wrong one (red cross), while I had to look a bit further (green rectangle). Hopefully this helps others 1 2
Luke 42256 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 If you forgot the username, you can also leave it blank on the forgot password screen and then it will reset the password for every single user.

Sending you a PM about this. Edited June 17, 2023 by Carlo
