Install Emby Server 4.8 (beta) on Synology DSM 7.2

Today I installed DSM7.2 beta on my Synology. I observed immediately that Emby wasn't running anymore.

On my machine is installed emby-server-synology7_4.8.0.26_x86_64.spk.

What should I do now? Can I install package emby-server-synology72_4.8.0.26_x86_64.spk without problems? Or should I wait till version 4.8.27 is coming available for x86-64 machines?

If you can wait a few hours, then manually install emby-server-synology72_4.8.0.27_x86_64.spk

There are new versions being built right now for v4.8.0.27 that address some issues with the .26 release. You need the synology72 package if you are on DSM 7.2

running 7.1 installed 4.7.8.0.27 and the emby app will not stay running.  Runs for about a min then says manually shut down.  Any thoughts?

Same issue.  Version 4.7.8.0 from the Synology store works fine, but can't run the latest version under Synology 7.2 using the Emby Synology 7.2 version.

On my DSM 7.2 NAS I installed version emby-server-synology72_4.8.0.27_x86_64.spk on top of version emby-server-synology7_4.8.0.26_x86_64.spk without problems.

Everybody happy again!

Yes this is a known upgrade issue.

Looks like a specific issue with .27 upgrading from older versions

But would need to see everyone's server logs to see if it is the same issue..

EMBY server is a 3rd party package and unfortunately it is not supported in the DSM7 currently.

It's not listed in the supported 3rd party package list for DSM7:

This is because Synology has added a strict requirement on DSM 7 to prevent packages not signed by Synology from running with root privileges due to security reasons.

Unless the EMBY server provides a package that follows the DSM7's security policy.

dann empfehle ich Ihnen, dass Sie in Kontakt mit Synology treten, da wir hier keine Möglichkeit haben, nach der Installation von 7.2 Beta den Emby-Server zu installieren. Synology ist der Meinung, dass Emby irgendeine Forderung bezüglich der Sicherheit nicht erfüllt.

So die Rückmeldung an mich. und auch an andere User.

Ich könnte mir auch vorstellen, dass ein anderes Produkt um die Gunst von Synology kämpft!

We're currently going through the submission process with Synology for 7.2 compatible packages.
