bif is not generated in some videos.

Hi everyone,

 

I have included my library to emby and all the metadata and preview thumbnails are already generated (every 10 seconds). However there are 6 movies that do not generate the bif files. I have tried to scan the library again and use the "thumbnail image extraction" option. Both options finish very fast and do not extract the chapters of these 6 movies. Are there any extraction limitations? Is there any way to force individually the extraction of chapters?

Post your server log as described in the link above, might give some insight into what's going on with those 6 exclusions.

Refreshing the metadata will force a new image extraction attempt.

look for the image-extraction log file - as it may give clues as to why it's failing.

I can see evidence you played it - but no quick-extract-image process has been run on it ?

Yes, I have clicked on the movie and then I have selected the option the metadata refresh. However, I don't get the preview images.

The process you're looking for is listed below - if the 'quick-extract-imageseries' has not run on that movie - then that is why there are no images.

I seem to recall there USED to be a blacklist of items that failed this extraction - and they were not tried again, BUT I think this has now changed so it re-tries.  @Happy2Play - Can you kindly confirm ?

I have been able to extract the preview images.

I deleted the movie and copied it again. After clicking on the "Thumbnail image extraction" task, the images of the chapters appeared.

I am going to do the same with the rest of the films.

Think they are still blacklisted/only processed once, just don't have the txt file anymore and items would require Refresh metadata.

ok - great - thanks for the clarification 

@majesticstudio So if the extract fails for whatever reason - then the only way to attempt the extraction again is to refresh the metadata as I said above.    But I think you are all sorted now correct ?

I was able to create the preview images for one of the movies that was giving me a failure. Now I am trying to create the images of the rest of the movies using the same method (delete and import movie).

Hi,

I have obtained the preview images of all the videos.

On those files where I had problems, I deleted the media from the emby manager and then I copied the video files again. Then, emby scanned the media library and finally generated the preview images.

Everything is now perfect
