Bibliothek Scan-Probleme

Hallo

Ich habe Emby seit ca. 1 Monat im Betrieb, und bin voll zufrieden.

Ich habe vielleicht ein bisschen Mist mit den Bibliotheken gemacht. Ich denke, eigentlich sollte das gehen, es geht aber nicht.

 

 

Ich habe einen Ordner  KINDER.  

Zunächst hatte ich im Ordner KINDER nur Filme, und diesen Ordner als Film Bibliothek   Kinderfilme  betrieben, alles OK.

Da dieser Ordner für einen bestimmten Nutzer der einzige Zugängliche ist, wollte ich ein paar Musikfiles dazukopieren.

Zunächst waren es m4a- files, die wurden nicht erkannt:   Soviel habe ich schon mal gelernt.

Nach dem Umwandeln in mp3 wurden sie aber immer noch nicht als Film erkannt.    Das scheint einigermassen logisch zu sein.

 

Darum habe ich eine Musik-Bibliothek   Kindermusik  erzeugt, die AUCH AUF DEN Ordner KINDER zugreift.    

Und jetzt wird es schräg: Die Bibliothek KinderMUSIK erkennt alle Videos in dem Ordner, aber weder die mp3 noch die m4a files.

Die Bibliothek Kindermusik ist somit praktisch identisch zur Bibliothe Kinderfilme.

 

Ein weiteres Video, dass ich noch später hizugefügt habe, erscheint sowohl in der Bibliothek Kinderfilme, als auch in Kindermusik.

 

OK; vielleicht ist das eine blöde Idee zwei Bibliotheken auf denselben Ordner zugreifen zu lassen.   Oder sollte das eigentlich gehen?

 

Ich werde noch schreiben, ob sich das Problem lösen lässt, wenn ich die Musik und die Filme in unterschiedlichen Ordnern ablege. Ich wollte aber mal den Status loggen.

Vielleicht schreibst Du mal, worauf der Server installiert ist, Windows, Linux, Synology......

You can't have two different-type libraries pointing to the same folders - or one library folders that are subset of another library folder, they must hierarchically be at least same-level, i.e.

1) \CHILDREN for Movie library and \CHILDREN for Music library - won't work, only movies will be shown

2) \CHILDREN for Movie library and \CHILDREN\Music for Music library - won't work, only movies will be shown

3) \CHILDREN\Movies for Movie library and \CHILDREN\Music for Music library - will work, you'll have both movies and music shown/recognized

Herzlichen Dank für die Antworten, und Sorry, dass ich mich erst heute wieder melde.

Mein Server ist eine Synology DS418 mit Software DSM 7.0.1-42218 Update 5

Die Installation war einfach, und alles hat auf Anhieb problemlos geklappt.

Thank you very much, GrimReaper. That was exactly what I supposed. But i did not find such a behaviour described in the help for the libraries.  So now it is documented for others to read.

By the way: I solved it, after your post, by switching to a new library of type  mixed content.   This also worked very well.

(The adressed child might have difficulties in switching from one library to another.  Therefore I prefer to have one Library, that fits all.     At least for the moment, I try todo it so.  Maybee, later I will switch to your Idea. )
