Chiefmas 40 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Hi, I'm moving to new hardware. My Emby is installed to a separate disk, which is also going to be moved to the new hardware. If I assign the same drive letters so nothing changes, and set permissions correctly, will Emby just run on the new hardware? In a sense, I'm asking how portable the installation is. Or will I still need to do an install over the installation on that disk (backing up/moving data files as described in the KB article)? Media assets and metadata are stored nfo with media, so I could still use the backup/restore process if that's still preferred. Thanks!
Solution Happy2Play 9781 Posted January 27, 2023 Solution Posted January 27, 2023 If drive letters and library paths are not changing, then it shouldn't be an issue. I have don't this on Windows a couple times.
