Actors' photos no longer showing up

For a week or so, all the actor photos for all my tv shows or movies have been replaced with a missing image icon. 

I've tried refreshing the metadata, checked that box to replace existing images, still nothing happens.  Also tried manually updating actors: i can see pictures when I search for their photos, but once I select something, it returns to this.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Can you post the server log for a specific example on refresh and edit image.

Here is the server log. 

I've tried again last night a full scan of my library. The Emby Cache folder grew from ~600MB to ~8GB, but the photos are still not working.

What type of drive is this?  Did the drive letter possibly change?

Yeah, I moved the cache location after the issue started, thinking this way I would for a full refresh of the cache and fix the problems. 

Now my cache is located on C:, but this did not resolve the problems. What's weird is that all the movie posters, backgrounds, everything works fine. Just the actors look like that.

Try clearing browser cache, see if it makes a difference.

Sorry I do not follow as Emby Cache folder has nothing to do with people images.  You can delete the Cache folder at any time and it has relatively no effect on anything except maybe slow reloading of all images in a client.

The actor images are an issue as the log shows issues with that custom G drive path.  So does the G drive path still exist?  Otherwise you have a database issue that will probably rquire removing all libraries, scanning and readding.

 

But yes that plugin may correct your Metadata path issue.

No, the G: path no longer exists.  I don't understand though why it would still point to that when I have moved it to C : over two weeks ago.

You are mixing custom metadata path and custom cache path. You have custom metadata path set on G drive - or faulty db entries pointing to it.

I have exactlly the same problem after installing Emby on a new Windows PC. 
Does anyone tried the mentionned plugin? Does it work? 
If I understand well I shoud to copy the .dll file in the folder with the plugins? Where is this folder?

Ok, I found where are the plugins

What is annoying is that even for the new movies and series that I add, the photos of several actors do not appear. If I click on the actor whose photo does not appear and I return to the title of the movie by refreshing the page, his photo appears. Does anyone has a solution?

 Not sure about the imageprocessor errors you are having also.  But multiple time on this specific image.

Hi, Luke. 

It's exactly the same issue as had HolyGigi in the beginning of this post: almost all actors photos for all my tv shows or movies have been replaced with a missing image icon.

It happened after that I reinstalled my Windows on my PC and did a restore of Emby server from a backup using the plugin.

When I click on the missing photo, sometimes it appears on the next screen (or I should to search it manually) and after that it shows. It's very strange. I deleted all the libraries and readded it again one more time, I did a refresh metadata by replacing the existing  images, atc., but the issues persisted. I even tried the custom plugin (check the post of GrimReaper), but it didn't work. 
I put here the emby log files.

Did you check to see these images exist on your server as the database thinks they do.

But one example of the last one came from a TVDB episode gueststar defect that was corrected in a plugin update and requires metadata refresh to be done on Series or episode.

Removing and readding libraries will not necessarily purge all people so their previous db entries potentially are the issue.

No, I didn't know that it's necessary.

I don't know what happened, but I just did another refresh of metadata and it seems that the images appears! 

So, in the future, I should to manually copy (from the old server) and paste (in the new one) the metadata folder? This is the folder that shows in Library - Advanced section?

If you have not enabled the option in the plugin yes as it is required.  Otherwise you will be required to Refresh metadata on all libraries as the backup would not contain all info.

by default they are not enabled do to potential size of backup and time to backup all.

In the end everyone should have their own backup plan for the entire Emby Programdata folder.

Hi, Luke. 

Well, I did a new instalation of server. I had a lot of issues with the backup plugin. 

Thank you anyway, it's good to know for the next time.
