To complain about lacking TVnext progress

I'm disgusted that's it's been 3.5 years since I started this thread and we're still here, waiting, unknowing when this is coming. Beta cycles have been far too long. Does someone on the team not understand that this project has far too many clients/distros to support, that this kind of inability to make actual enhancements is severely hampered? Seriously... 

I'm sorry but, align your resources. Don't assume you can have as many variations as you do, and figure out how to move forward for a better experience for the majority of your current users than being stuck in the bug fix, everything on hold experience that you're currently putting out.

Android for example is a major user base, but those users (including me), still have no idea when or how you're moving the apps forward. ATV should continue to live on forever, because, well... It's STILL better on a Tv interface than the primary Android app.

I'll stop ranting. It just shouldn't take 5 years for a pretty much completed server end enhancement to see the light of day. Shameful.

So not only that emby is not going forward its going backwards. In beta they are testing modifications of views for home screen but for recorded tv introduced the horrendous useless view that is a pain in arse to use all the series thumbnails are gone and we have thumbnails of the actual recordings which most of the time its an advert.

I agree but if they still made a sweet product now I think people would come here for it.  Honestly jelly almost does a better job for live TV than emby.  And that's free...

Its a shame softworkz must be constrained that he can’t give the work to an opensource project that will appreciate his work however if he was paid for it then he cant do much about it which is probably the case. If they released this 3 years ago even in alpha they could have the whole wmc community here

As such, I have no interest in contributing to the success of competitors, and things like publishing as open-source in any form has never even been a thought.

One thought I have on this topic, is that I have the impression from the outside that the project management of Emby got a lot better since a couple of years ago, with deliverables and priorities for each beta cycle clearly set (even though we're not told). That means with tvnext not coming yet it's an active decision about priorities that was taken in the team and not just some random thing, which means that for better or worse we can't change it.

Hello, I'm sure if I am able to go through 29 pages of this thread.  Can someone give me a quick snippet/link to what TVNext is?  I've looked on the search engines, but the first link is very simplified Chinese, so I'm unsure of what I'm missing out.

I have stopped hoping for any change in the status of TVNext ever being released after I realized that Emby management holds Live TV (and it's users) in very low regard. @ebreven stated, earlier in this thread, TVNext was completed years ago, but was not implemented and now it needs to be re-done because it's not compatible with the current version of Emby. A totally wasted product!

I had it running a few weeks ago. Needed just a small set of adaptions.

Ok, thanks.  This is a Google Doc that describes features.  Is there a website?  Is this a service? Is this supposed to be a plugin?  I guess what problem does this thing solve?  I promise you I'm not and idiot and not discounting your need or want for this on Wednesday evenings.  I have been using NextPVR forever so I I don't know what need this fills.  Maybe I should open a separate thread?
