JuJuJurassic 49 Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Hi All, I have am EMby server and 2 SMB servers providing Media. I turned off one source, then the Emby server, then the other source. Now all the Metadata for one of the sources has gone. I've got a 700 MB internet link, but it's very slow in pulling the metadata down, 5.5k files to bring the metadata down for. Is there a way of speeding this process up? So I don't need to do it again, is there a way of backing up the metadata? I know there's a switch somwwhere to store the metadata with the media, but I can't find the option. Thanks Julian

For existing items, you'll need to Refresh metadata after enabling those options. 1

JuJuJurassic 49 Posted November 29, 2022 Author Posted November 29, 2022 Thanks GrimReaper, Much apprechiated. I've refreshed it, but it's running so slow pulling the data down.
GrimReaper 4753 Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Guess you'll just have to wait it out for initial scan. Any subsequent will be much faster, especially if you disable online meta-providers (or cut Internet access altogether while building libraries).

JuJuJurassic 49 Posted November 30, 2022 Author Posted November 30, 2022 Hi Luke, all the films are just titles, no pictures, IMDB ratings or any metadata. Unfortunatley it's just gone, but I'm storing it with the media instead of on the EMby server. Incidentally which would be faster? Thanks Julian

Thanks Julian I wouldn't say there is a performance difference between the two, it is mostly your preference of where you want metadata to be saved.
