Katatonik76 2 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Hello everybody. I'm new to the product: I'm trying to add the library by hooking up to my nas synology ds120j. Browsing through the folders it shows me NAS structure... and then choosing the MUSIC folder doesn't hook anything. What am I doing wrong? I tried also to enter manually the IP address but it doesn't work.
Luke 42078 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 HI, well you've only got the ip address there. Try entering the full path to the music library. If the server is on the NAS then I would also suggest using the local path rather then the network path.
Katatonik76 2 Posted October 12, 2022 Author Posted October 12, 2022 thank you so much for the speed. In the meantime I had a doubt about the permissions.. and in fact I discovered that I had to give access to my "music" folder to the "system internal user" "emby". Now works!!! Thanks anyway, very kind. Bye 2
Solution Luke 42078 Posted October 13, 2022 Solution Posted October 13, 2022 Did you switch it to local paths rather than network paths? You'll get much better performance that way.
Katatonik76 2 Posted October 13, 2022 Author Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) hi Luke, what do you mean exactly? the name of my NAS? \\nameofmynas? or \\volume1\music\mp3\2022 instead of \\192.168.1.3 ? Thank you Edited October 13, 2022 by Katatonik76

Thank you The local path then optional share path. Not a Synology user but example for Windows. So yours would be something like /volume1/music.

Luke 42078 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 You'll get better performance setting up the library with the direct path, so /volume1/music, (if that's what it is).
FrostByte 5392 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Here's mine /volume1/MyEmbyMedia/Music \\MEDIA-SERVER\MyEmbyMedia\Music
