Chiefmas 40 Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 I've noticed that one of my users is getting some odd resolutions rescaling a video, and I think it's because they are watching in a small browser window, so my server is scaling and sending that. I just go fiber internet, so I've got much improved upstream, and I wonder now if I can force it to direct stream anyway, and let the client deal with the rescale locally, rather then consume other server resources. Is that possible? Specifically, this would be the web client. Thanks!
Luke 42085 Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Hi, emby apps will always direct play whenever possible. Do you check the reason for transcoding at the time?

Hmm it says due to quality setting, so that's just pure bitrate? Am I able to tell if that's user set vs auto set? I had assumed that it was due to scaling, because it's scaling it down to 426x180 according to the user sessions breakdown.
Solution Chiefmas 40 Posted October 7, 2022 Author Solution Posted October 7, 2022 Oh, nm, admin error! I must have accidentally capped their Internet streaming rate when I was setting their stream count limit. My bad! 1
