kevinw 8 Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 I’ve set up a Guest account for people to use when they come to stay with us. Is there any way to clear the watched statuses of everything they’ve watched once they go back home so the system is cleaned ready for the next visitor? Thanks.
ebr 16187 Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Hi. Not directly and there is a FR for this I believe. What you could do is setup your guest user fresh and then use the configuration backup plug-in to back it up. Save that backup and then, every time you wish to reset the user, do a restore of user data from that backup into the user.
kevinw 8 Posted June 6, 2022 Author Posted June 6, 2022 Thanks for the response ebr but I think I must misunderstand what you're suggesting and I've just made a bit of a blunder! In between me posting and you responding I thought "Why don't I just mark the libraries as played then mark them as unplayed which will also reset any half-watched files'. So I clicked on a library, marked it played, clicked on the library again...then realised there is no mark unplayed option! Then you responded and I take regular back-ups so I thought I'd just restore as you suggested. I picked a back-up taken before our guest arrived, I selected None then Guest as the user and User Playstate... The restore seems to have worked as the library order on the Home screen is as it was before I reorganised them but the play states have not been restored, everything in that library is still marked as Played from my earlier action. That begs two questions - 1) What did I misunderstand and, 2) how do I mark a library as Unplayed? I also looked for a similar feature request but the search didn't find it and I gave up after 20 screens when looking for it. I don't suppose you know when it was posted do you? Thanks.

Multi-Select all libraries while logged in as that user. But yes from a library context menu you can only mark library as played. 1

I saw that somewhere in the forum but couldn't get multi-select to work at all. I now realise it doesn't work when the Home screen is set to My Media (Small). Once I'd figured that out all my libraries for the Guest user are marked Unplayed. Thank you. 24 minutes ago, Happy2Play said: But yes from a library context menu you can only mark library as played. Is there a good reason for that or is that just how it is?
