This will be happening on the server beta channel in the near future, thanks. any news on this please @Luke if emby is detecting these codecs, then I can probably start to sunset the MediaInfo plugin or modify it to just use the Emby built in detection functions without the need for the 3rd party mediaInfo app. Tks.

Hmm - that's strange. Can you show the MediaInfo json output from that file ? (use MediaInfo GUI version, then go into View and post the JSOn output. The reason I'm asking - is DV8 usually detects with the first line below and has HDR10 compatibility - according to the log, yours does not - thus it is not picking it up as DV8. An example below on what DV8 should look like : "HDR_Format":"Dolby Vision / SMPTE ST 2086", "HDR_Format_Version":"1.0 / ", "HDR_Format_Profile":"dvhe.08 / ", "HDR_Format_Level":"06 / ", "HDR_Format_Settings":"BL+RPU / ", "HDR_Format_Compression":"None / ", "HDR_Format_Compatibility":"HDR10 / HDR10",
kaledi 42 Posted Tuesday at 08:02 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:02 PM Think I'm having a similar issue. Recently migrated my Emby server that I use this plug in with from Windows 11 to another Windows 11 machine. Everything went fine and the plug in works. However very oddly, for DV 8.1 files, it doesn't write that information. It does Fort DV7, HDR10+ etc, but not DV8.1. It just writes UHD (bitrate). I've also just realised it is not correctly writing if it is a hybrid DV HDR10+ file. Any ideas? Where is the latest version for the plug in available to download?

Hi - As per the post above, can you provide the JSON output and I'll take a look. Use the MediaInfo GUI version to get the JSON output from the file in question - this is what the Plugin reads to determine the codecs.

kaledi 42 Posted yesterday at 09:33 AM Posted yesterday at 09:33 AM Thanks - will try this tonight. The strange thing is that the migration from one PC to another involved me restoring an existing emby back up and the mediainfo files were directly transfered - i.e. same versions. Therefore, I can't see why this should have changed. The one application that may have updated was handbrake and wonde if this is the cause - it has been the cause of previous issues (if I recall correct), by inserting multiple flags for the same thing in the same field e.g. HDR HDR HDR

It's possible the version of mediainfo that you are/were using is/was different, thus the issue - but the DLL version I posted above, caters for both the old format and new, so it should not matter what version of mediainfo you are using. Can you also let me know what version of mediainfo you are using ? Tks. 1

Was this intended? I tried updating the MediaInfo and even used a current version of mkpropedit (vs the v70 i have been using), but it still changes that Title field. I swapped back for now and after correcting that field, it is not updating it after setting it for reprocessing. 1

Hmm - I added this to my own version about 6 months ago to get a consistent (with Emby) MKV General|Movie Name for both TV Episodes and Movies - the version I uploaded above now contains this. (v1.0.2.1) I agree this should be a toggle/option - so I'll add this and release a new version over the weekend. Default will be off. FYI For Movies - it sets the MKV General|Movie Name to : Emby Movie Name + (Production Year) - ie Alien (1979) For Episodes - it sets the MKV General|Movie Name to : Show/Series Name + (Original Production Year) + Season# + Episode# + Episode Name - ie Young Sherlock (2026) - s1e8 - The Case of Beatrice Holmes Edited 24 minutes ago by rbjtech
