dandetkowski1962 1 Posted May 16, 2022 Author Posted May 16, 2022 (edited) So I'm running a desktop pc, running windows 11 and all was working fine with Wide Open West (wow) as my isp ethernet, hard wired. I could watch my stuff on any mobile devices remotely with no issues, using the installed emby server. Now I have Verizon 5g home internet, wireless signal, plugged directly into the computer as last isp was. I can access the server via wifi at home, just not remotely... pwhodges 2037 Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 Your external address will be different now, so you will need to change your DNS (or simply the connection details if you use the IP address), and also set up the port forwarding in your new router. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity#:~:text=In-Network Connections, manually entering the server's address. dandetkowski1962 1 Posted May 16, 2022 Author Posted May 16, 2022 Thanks Paul. I knew it had to be something, just not sure where to look. I'll try that once I get back home after work today
dandetkowski1962 1 Posted May 17, 2022 Author Posted May 17, 2022 Ok still not connecting remotely, only if I connect via wifi at home. Tried users, ip addresses, Yada, yada. Unistalled reinstalled, the server finds the mobile device fine via wifi but not via remotely, wifi off. Tried all of my devices and nothing will connect with Wi-Fi off.
dandetkowski1962 1 Posted May 17, 2022 Author Posted May 17, 2022 There's not much in the routers options for Port forwarding other than UPnP is checked as active. There are no options to add a path for Port forwarding at all. I seriously think this is a Verizon issue with their router.
Luke 42263 Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Do they allow you to open these ports? Maybe this will help?
Happy2Play 9814 Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Was just going to post this to see if it helped. 5G Home Router - Set Up Port Forwarding | Verizon
Happy2Play 9814 Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Maybe Firewall also? Firewall Settings - LTE Internet (Installed) | Verizon
