Brendon 119 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 I haver noticed that users can have media appear in search as well as access it when they have no access to that library, why is this so? I have checked and triple checked this, if i make a library and put something in it that no user has access to, i can still search for it, it will show and it will be play, this seems to be a rather big flaw.

Many have to go over specific example and user settings as I can no reproduce a user search getting results and accessing anything they have they have been removed access from. 1
Brendon 119 Posted May 15, 2022 Author Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) Last night i made a 4K movie library @Happy2Play just a test to see how my server handles it, the library had no access permission for anyone not even myself yet the 4K films were coming up when searched, tested this with my kids accounts and a a test user account and they were always showing in search. Just to clarify the library itself is not showing, that stays hidden, the content is not. Edited May 15, 2022 by Brendon

Searching for Re ady Player One brings up the 4K version as well as the BD version, both are in completely different libraries on completely different HDD's... Edited May 15, 2022 by Brendon

Happy2Play 9784 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Yes, it is always the little things. But glad you got it figured out. For anyone else looking at this the library folder was duplicated to Movies 4K and Movies library. So, everything was still available via Movies.
