Can't bring up EMBY Configuration page

I can no longer get into the Manage Emby Server page (dashboard) where you can see you lic, start various scans....

Restarted EMBY, restarted PC, still no dice.  What led me to this discovery is the vast majority of my movies no longer have a  thumbnail.  Just a blank image.

When I click the gear icon "Manage Emby Server", it takes me to the settings page.

Any suggestions???

Is your drive getting full? Also, are there excess files in transcode-temp folder?

It's funny you mentioned the full drive.  Windows did say I have one of my 10 HDD getting full.  But the movies not displaying are not necessarily on the drive in question. I never transcode movies.  I have a separate HTPC which does all the decoding.  But I'll take a look in that transcode folder.  Do you know it's location?

And THANKS for such a quick reply.

Actually it's resolved now.

I removed a movie from the drive in question to free up space.  That resolved the thumbnail issue.

The bigger issue was resolved by signing in MANUALLY vs clicking the name.

Thank you for your help and quickness to reply !!!!

@GrimReaper

I think I spoke too soon.

You were right about why the movies would not display cover art which was due to the HDD being full.  I deleted some stuff I know I'd never want to watch again.  That gave be 44Gb of free space.  I deleted the recycle bin on the HDD, and also emptied the recycle bin on the desk top.  Rebooted. Logged into Emby dashboard and started new scans.

I still cannot get the movies which were on the drive that was full to display the cover art.  The drive now has 44G of free space and Windows no longer warns me of a full disc.

Any suggestions?

You might try deleting cache folder contents - server will recover, and run library scan afterwards.

Again, THANKS for the speedy replies!

Can you be a little more specific? I'm not sure which "cache folder contents" you're referring to.  Is this a specific folder in Emby, or is there supposed to be something in each movie folder that I am supposed to delete? I am very familiar with the Windows structure so can navigate to any folder (hidden or not) that you might be referencing.

thanks Reaper

Your Dashboard should tell you cache folder location (look at the Paths section lower right), under it you'll have several subfolders, *images would be the one that should interest you.

Before that, you might clear browsing data, see how does that compare.

Edit: Alternatively, you can change/select some other CoverArt treatment in plugin settings, as that should trigger images redrawing.

Well, crud.

I navigated to the cache folder and put everything in the images subfolder into a New folder (vs. deleting them) just in case something went wrong.  No dice.  I opened CoverArt and changed some settings.  I then ran the scans.  Rebooted too.  It still looks like the pic from my original post up top.  But all the cover arts that are missing were on the drive that was full.  That drive now has 44G of free space, but it hasn't made a difference.

Hi.  Are you saving images with your media?  Perhaps, when the drive was full, some of those images got saved as corrupted files...

Hi @ebr  !!!

Let me explain what may have lead up to the image issue.....

My EMBY server has 10 HDD and 1 SSD.  The OS is on the SSD.  All media is on the HDDs.  The server is just that, the server (meaning it does not play movies). There are 3 other HTPC's in the home which access the server to play movies, but the server does no transcoding. The HTPC's do all the playing.

A few months ago I had one of the HDD's start giving errors.  When you would try to watch a movie that happened to reside on the HDD, it may or may not play.  So I was going to replace the drive before it completely died.  Since I have been adding to this server for over a decade, some of the original HDD's are only 2TB in size.  Then some 3TB, and 4TB drives.  I purchased an 8TB drive and figured I would consolidate a few other drives in addition to the failing drive onto this new 8TB.  Having a PC with 10 HDD in it becomes very heavy. I partitioned the new 8TB drive so when I plugged it back in, the PC would never know anything really changed (as far as the logical naming of the drives were concerned) and therefore I would not have to re-do anything in EMBY.  I created a partition for each HDD that was being replaced.  Each partition was exactly the size required to hold all the media from the HDD which that partition was replacing.  Once all was complete and the server fired back up, everything was fine.  All clients saw the cover art just fine.  The server saw the cover art just fine.

I went to watch a movie on one of the HTPC's a few days ago and that is when I saw that the cover art was missing from lots of movies while I was trying to browse my collection.  I  got on the Server and saw the same. But I also saw a warning from Windows that one of the drives was FULL.  Looking more closely I realized that ALL the movies missing the cover art were all the movies on the new 8TB drive.  After seeing @GrimReaper question about any HDD being full I immediately removed a movie or two from each partition to free up space (each partition now has 40+Gb of free space now).  Every movie folder on each partition still retains ALL the original cover art, banners, backdrops....so nothing changed, as far as EMBY would know.

I have tried the suggestions which  @GrimReaper offered (TY BTW for being so responsive, especially over a weekend!).  Those did not change. I've re-scrubbed one of the movies to see if EMBY noticed the new dates to the pics and would update, but that didn't change either.

Not sure how to resolve this.  Would a log file offer any ideas?  I can grab it and post it if you think that would help.  I just didn't think it would since there are no errors or complaints from the server.

Thank you EBR !

Rob

Can you post a server log.

Are you sure you deleted the image cache folder?  A corrupted image cache is usually the cause of this.  Either that, or the originals became corrupted.

From a specific example from image above.  This would appear to be a library network path issue "The network name cannot be found" so the image can't be treated..

Does this answer your question?

Thanks all.

Happy2Play points out HDD 4, 5 & 6....and those were the drives which all got consolidated on the new 8Tb drive.

I guess I need to examine the paths for those.  What's odd is it was all working after the hard drive swap.  Not sure what changed or when, but I will concentrate on what you all have pointed out.

THANK YOU !!!!!
