KLF&TLF 28 Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 Firstly sorry I have put this here as I wasn't sure where it should go but I have 1 question and 1 request. After a painstakingly long time of configuration I was finally able to get the report for my missing episodes so thanks everyone who assisted me there. But my request is could that report be modified to highlight the missing ones when you run the report for all. I have currently run the report "All" and then "Missing" and merged them together as I identify what I need to obtain. This leads me to my question of metadata. I have a few shows but the example I will is Ghost Adventures it is currently up to season 22 in IMDB however when I have added recent shows in it has identified them as season 23. I have tried renaming my files but that hasn't worked, I have tried editing the metadata and that hasn't worked and I don't really want to have to run my episodes through another transcoding thingy to change the metadata that way as there is on average 18 episodes per season so a bucket load. Open to suggestions if anyone has any
Luke 42085 Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 Hi there, how are the files named and organized? That's where the season number comes from.
KLF&TLF 28 Posted March 31, 2022 Author Posted March 31, 2022 The majority are the name of the series then s01e01 for example. When I say majority I’m talking 95% of the 25,000 episodes of all series. Then the location setup is Drive 1 - A - L series with each having subdirectories for each season Drive 2 - M - Z and configured the same way Drive 3 - Movie drive therefore each series is in its own unique location with subdirectories for each season. I’ve tried changing this to no avail. I think I’m going to have to send them back through hand break or similar to get the metadata correct. And if I do that I can add my subtitles as I CC is painful
Luke 42085 Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 Can we please look at a specific example? Thanks !
KLF&TLF 28 Posted April 1, 2022 Author Posted April 1, 2022 Here is a screenshot of Ghost Adventures directory. Currently I am (yes I know) downloading my missing seasons and therefore keeping the download naming convention till it is down. Then I change the file structure to the additional example. I have screenshot within Emby so you can see how the metadata has defined the files into seasons and I have also included IMDB page where you can see there are only 22 Seasons listed. I do think it is coming back to the way in which the original file was created as S22E07 was 6 months after the previous so people assumed a new season and that is where I think maybe this is coming from. It could be a too hard basket thing but I am trying to configure this mess out now that we have a decent platform to stream through with Emby
Solution GrimReaper 4762 Posted April 1, 2022 Solution Posted April 1, 2022 IMDB has no influence there, as nothing is scraped from it. However, both TVDB and TMDB list those episodes with those exact names as Season 22: https://thetvdb.com/series/ghost-adventures/seasons/official/22 https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/17937-ghost-adventures/season/22 And that is what you should do: rename all those as S22Exx and all metadata should be populated accordingly, irrespective of your preferred scraper. 1
Happy2Play 9784 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Well you folder and files are named Season 23/S23E01 so they will be treated as Season 23. You have to rename folder and file from 23 to 22. This will be problematic for all series that are different on provider site and the Scene release.
Mibok 158 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 If you are going to mass edit filenames i recommend you to use ReNamer https://www.den4b.com/products/renamer i have use it before to mass edit file names, you can filter, replace, insert, cleanup (removes specials characters like []. ()... etc..), serialize, and many other options. It had helped me a lot in those situations.
KLF&TLF 28 Posted April 1, 2022 Author Posted April 1, 2022 THANKS EVERYONE, that fixed it don't know why I didn't think of it when I was close to i. Sometimes its a forest not a tree 1
