ffmpeg running continuously

I noticed ffmpeg runs continuously at about 25% CPU capacity. Is that normal?

Depends if Emby is doing something but no.  I currently have no ffmpeg processes on either stable or beta servers.

We would probably need to see a server log.

This activity seems to involve only one particular hard drive.

I notice the first occurrance of "quick-extract-imageseries..." files. There are now 292 of them. A couple of the most recent ones are included.

Yes depending on your setting this will happen on a scheduled task and/or during scan/new item import.
