donniedarko83 6 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Hello, I hope someone can help me with my issues First of all, it was a mess to get the SSL certificate working, but afterall it worked but some strange behaviour appeared. Maybe I am a stupid, but is it normal when I play a video file locally on my server that the files are beeing send over my network? This happens only if I connect via HTTPS, if I connect normally with port 8096 the files are beeing played locally. Second thing I don't get, all users with a Samsung TV get the message no stream available. All other clients are working. This happend after using SSL. I don't want to give up on SSL only because of the two useres with a Samsung TV, so please maybe you can give me a hint what the problem is here. Server logs are attached. Thanks! embyserver (4).txt

pwhodges 2014 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 When you use https, presumably you specify your server by domain name. This then resolves to the router's external address; the router (presumably, also, in your case) can do "loopback" or "hairpinning" to send the communication from the client back to the server (and vice versa). So in this case traffic to and from the router need not be a surprise. Paul
donniedarko83 6 Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Okay thank you! So this is a normal behavior. Any suggestions regarding the issue with my Samsung clients?

donniedarko83 6 Posted February 16, 2022 Author Posted February 16, 2022 In the embyserver file you should see at around 6:32pm that they start a movie, but before the video playback starts, on the Samsung TV there is a message like "no streams available" and it skips the video embyserver (7).txt
Luke 42085 Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 What type of SSL certificate are you using? Samsung TV's only accept a limited set of SSL certificates. @SamES
donniedarko83 6 Posted February 16, 2022 Author Posted February 16, 2022 I have used Letsencrypt @SamES

Lets Encrypt had an expired root certificate and many devices (including many LG and Samsung TV's) don't have updated certificates. Many users have had success with moving away from LetsEncrypt to ZeroSSL. There's a lot of discussion in this thread (and a few others as well )
Solution donniedarko83 6 Posted February 18, 2022 Author Solution Posted February 18, 2022 I have issued a new certificate with ZeroSSL and all is working now. Thanks for the help 1
