Hi Folks,

I have 2 shows with the same name in my TV folder and Emby has decided to 'merge' them ...

I have correctly named the folders and files ...

/home/paully/Emby/TV/Raised by Wolves
/home/paully/Emby/TV/Raised by Wolves (2020)

... but it's put some of them together and forgotten about the rest.

So, I've ended up with 17 episodes where there should be 24 episodes.

Season 2 of the newer series has screenshots from the older British comedy show but with the newer series titles

So, my thought for a fix was to 'move' the old series 'out of the library' and let Emby tidy things up.

Is there a better way?

What happens when I add the old series back in to the library again?

(It's a shame Ridley Scott didn't do his homework before deciding on a title for his show - and he's a Brit - so you'd think he'd know about the old series!)

Thanks,

Paully

You can force each directory to be identified correctly by adding "[tvdbid=nnnnn]" with the appropriate id number (276498 or 368643) to the directory names.

Oooo, that's interesting ... I never knew that.

What about a file in the folder that does the same identification help?

Boom, that's solved it. Thanks! 🙂

Generally adding to the folder name is enough.  For movies with multiple versions, whose name is supposed to match the directory name under Emby rules, I add it to the file names.
