Ok, searched google and this forum and I just can't see what I'm doing wrong:

I'm trying to use https: to access EMBY from outside my network.

I have a domain name from google - lets call it example.co.uk

I have a Let's Encrypt cert - valid and recognised by google as being active on their dashboard

I have ddns pointing to my home ip address

I have converted my certificate to the required .pfx file format

In ENBY:

I have local ip address set

I have http: port set to 8096

I have https: port set to 8920

I have external domain set (to example.co.uk0

I have custom SSL certificate path set correctly

I have .pfx password set correctly

In my router:

I have port forward set up correctly pointing to my internal ip

Now, from any external browser when I connect to EMBY and view the server dashboard settings I see

In-Home (LAN) access: http:// internal ip:8096

Remote (WAN) access: http://example.co.uk:8096

My question is why wont it recognise the https://example.co.uk:8920 address? I can't for the life of me see where I've gone wrong

Any help would be appreciated

Care to share a screenshot of your Network settings?

Do mask your domain and cert path.

Well, hopefully Emby's forums will still be around tomorrow. 😉

Ok, had someone access my computer and send me some screenshots.. Here they are

I have secure connection mode set to required for all remote connections and restarted the EMBY server several times. My example.co.uk:8096 address works outside my network without a problem.

At this point I'm thinking it's something to do with google but I'm not 100% sure

If your WAN does not populate HTTPS then there is a certificate issue, please restart Emby and post a server log.

OK thanks guys...

@Happy2Play: As you suggested it was the certificate. I scrapped the current certificate and re-did it, re-converted it and re-installed it and it now works. File must have gotten corrupted somewhere along the line. Never thought to re-do the cert.

I see you had a Let's Encrypt cert.  Recently they had a bug in their cert generation, and some issued certificates were not as secure as they should have been.  They are in the process right now of revoking these certificates to force people to get them re-issued; maybe this is relevant?

@pwhodges Maybe - who knows but like I said I scrapped the original ones and started from scratch which solved the problem
