HumNummaHumma 0 Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 (edited) I'm having difficulty getting Emby to recognize the difference between a show that started with a Miniseries and then became a regular TV series. In my example, I'm talking about the TV show "V" that originally aired in 1983. In 1983 there was a two-part miniseries called "V" (IMDB ID: tt0085106) In 1984, there was a three-part miniseries called "V: The Final Battle" (IMDB ID: tt0086823) In 1984, thee was a regular TV series, once again called "V" (IMDB ID: tt0086822). This lasted one season, 19 episodes. While IMDB differentiates between these, the TVDB just bundles them all under one listing (TVDB ID: 76354). This is giving me fits, because I am having trouble getting Emby to recognize that they are different shows. It is trying to assign the TV series metadata (IMDB ID: tt0086822) to the two original miniseries episodes (IMDB ID: tt0085106). I think if TVDB had listed them separately, I wouldn't have a problem. So I've been going around in circles trying to find the best way to organize it and to get the correct metadata assigned. I originally want to have them as separate directories, but maybe I should list the two miniseries as "Special" instead of "Season." Any suggestions? Solution Junglejim 385 Posted January 26, 2022 Solution Posted January 26, 2022 Hi mate, yep I would list the miniseries as specials. That's what TVDB has them listed as. https://thetvdb.com/series/v/seasons/official/0 1
HumNummaHumma 0 Posted January 26, 2022 Author Posted January 26, 2022 Thanks Junglejim! I took your advice and created a Season 00 folder. That's where I'll put the two miniseries. Once I did that, TVDB gave me the metadata that I was expecting. Success all around! Thanks again!
