Bhakti88 5 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I can play most every file in either x264 or x265. I have run into a few x265 files I can't play all with the same error. On the playback screen it either says "too many errors" or "no compatible streams available". In the server log it is telling me "Error initializing an MFX session" and then at the end it is quitting saying "failed to load amf library dll". I have tried to play in a web browser and on two different TVs, all don't work. This is an AMD system with nVidia RTX 3070. I have hardware accel enabled. Logs are attached. embyserver-63777041915.txthardware_detection-63777040038.txt
Luke 42080 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Hi, was any ffmpeg log file generated? Please attach that as well. Thanks.
Bhakti88 5 Posted January 6, 2022 Author Posted January 6, 2022 ffmpeg-transcode-1c0858d0-416d-4e37-b14b-c5682ad193c0_1.txt Yes, attached here.
Luke 42080 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Hi, actually this is your problem. Your G: drive is unavailable, or that file is no longer there: file:G:\1 - Movies\The.Hobbit.and.The.Lord.of.the.Rings.Extended.UHD.BluRay.2160p.TrueHD.Atmos.7.1.HEVC.REMUX-FraMeSToR\The.Hobbit.An.Unexpected.Journey.2012.Extended.Cut.UHD.BluRay.2160p.TrueHD.Atmos.7.1.HEVC.REMUX-FraMeSToR\The.Hobbit.An.Unexpected.Journey.2012.Extended.Cut.UHD.BluRay.2160p.TrueHD.Atmos.7.1.HEVC.REMUX-FraMeSToR.mkv: No such file or directory
Solution Bhakti88 5 Posted January 6, 2022 Author Solution Posted January 6, 2022 That is very interesting. The files are definitely there as I was playing them with MPC. The issue seems to be the filename+path length. Once I shortened them the files are now playable in Emby. Is there a character limit for Emby that is different from Windows?
Luke 42080 Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 Hi, there is no such limit in emby but it's possible it could be a problem in ffmpeg, which emby uses. Thanks for the feedback.
