NFO files are ignored

I'm having an NFO file and a JPG File for every movie-file in my library like:

Movie-file: Folge 1 Die Flucht S01-E01 (ARD) (03Jan2022 2200).mp4
NFO-file: Folge 1 Die Flucht S01-E01 (ARD) (03Jan2022 2200).nfo
JPG-file: Folge 1 Die Flucht S01-E01 (ARD) (03Jan2022 2200).jpg

Emby reads the JPG file correctly but it ignores the NFO file.

I switched Source: NFO-Metadata on in the library to on and disabled everythin else.

How can I make emby to read the infos like plot and title etc. form the NFO files?

Thank you in advance :-)

My library is completely NFO-driven - with no internal scrapers enabled - and have no issues getting those read.

do you mean you've enabled Metadata Reader>NFO?

Can you post one of those NFOs?

Thank you for your fast reply. Yes, that is my setting. Only NFO is enabled. The "NFO Metadata Plugin" is enabled (disabling it removes the NFO from the settings).

Maybe my NFO files are not correct. Please take a look at the attachment. Kodi reads these files without problems...

By the way: I am using NFO files created by the mymovies database for my DVD folders. They are named "movie.nfo" and are into every video_ts folder. Kodi reads these NFO files without problems. But emy does ignore them.

Yep, if that is a Series as it appears to be, NFO file formatted like that won't be read as that is not proper episode NFO.

Thank you.

I checked the NFO files against new created ones. I found two errors

1. My NFO files conained a "<br>" between the <plot> tags.
2. The first line has to be "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>" for movies.

Changing the NFO worked. Now emby is reading the files like a charm :-))

My second problem was between VIDEO_TS folders. Mymovies does export the NFO files with the name movie.nfo. These files are not read by emby. Renaming/copying them to video_ts.nfo corrects the error.
