Emby Server: Windows, 4.6.7.0
Intel NUC i9

Client: Samsung Smart TV Tizen

GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060 TI Mini

A Friend of mine is watching a 4K movie right now and it is transcoding, whats absolutely ok.
But i saw he is not using my GPU for transcoding. So i wonder why my RTX 3060TI can't transcode h265 to h264
I see my CPU hits 100% but it seems to use software transcoding at all, i have an i9, shouldn't it use iGPU instead of software if it for some reason can't use my GPU?

All sheets i can find tell me my GPU should have full h265 Enc/Dec support.
My setting for hardware acceleration is set to Auto and is working well, but not for h265 as it seems.

Any ideas or is that really something not supported by emby or my GPU?

Thanks

Hi, please try installing 4.6.7 again on top of itself and see if that helps. Thanks.

In clear text: the ffmpeg is from a beta version installation even though you have the stable 4.6.7 server installed, so something went wrong when installing.

exactly, this is not a mistake due installation. I did this on my own because i am helping to test the intro skip plugin so i need this ffmpeg version.

Ok, if this is the reason i know now and can live with it.

I just wasn't sure why this is happening.

thanks

This way you are creating an invalid installation where various things won't work, and when you then ask for support, you are binding our resources for investigating. Even I do not always check for this, and it could end up in a long run.

Please help us to keep our "forces" focusing on real issues.
Thanks for your understanding.
