What is the location of plugin images (backdrop, thumbnail, primary)?

I'd like to replace TuneIn's primary image as it doesn't look that great:

I'd like to use either Backdrop, either Thumb as Primary.

But I have no idea on where are these images stored in the file system, so I couldn't manage to reupload "Thumb" as "Primary".

Can you help solving me this little finetune?

Thanks a lot!

Hi, there's no folder location for these, so you'll have to use the image editor to specify the ones you want. Try just deleting that primary image. I'm not sure the 2x3 poster is used anymore on newer installations.

They are in \metadata\library in a id folder

So my example is in \metadata\library\af\af71c681da609e9be4975068f35e0328.

But as Luke mentioned you are better off just editing them from the UI.

Happy2Play: thanks a lot!

Anyway, my goal was not to edit the primary image in-place. I only needed the "big" version of the logo, to upload and change it from the UI.

Now I have found the image in the metadata folder, and uploaded through UI:

Looks way better :)

Thank you guys!

You didn't have to look for it through the filesystem, you could've just right-click>opened that Thumb or Backdrop in new tab and Save Image from there, afterwards just upload it as Primary.

There is no "open on new tab" option if you right-click on that image. Also, if Emby resizes those images when presenting, I would get quality drop on reusing the resized image.

Best way is to upload a new fullres image, but I couldn't find one online which matches the other backdrop and thumb images, that's why was the best method to just get the original backdrop image from the filesystem and reupload it as primary.

Ah, I knew it was somewhere there: once right-clicked, right click again on mini-image in submenu>Open in new tab; that brings full res image in new tab from where you can either DL image or copy/paste URL to desired image type.

If I right-click on it this is my menu:

Hm, I got that when clicked on blank area, but when clicked on image got same submenu as when clicked three-dots. Do you have mini-image on three dots?

Edit: Found the difference: works on Firefox (my primary browser), Chromium (Chrome, Edge) does not

No, there is no mini-image neither in FF nor in Chrome(Main browser).

However in FF I can select "View Background Image".

However even if I select that, FF shows a rescaled image, so I also have to play with the URL to not let Emby to resize and rescale.

So this could have worked also, but I'm happy to know where are these images really stored.

But even if you could get right click save to work you would only get a Emby scaled image vs actual size.

I tend to differ, saved jpeg has same res.

And  your example is different, but my image clearly shows the image shown on that page is not 1280x720 as it is 300x151.  But not sure exactly where your image is coming from or how you are actually getting the Emby url for it.

Getting by right-click submenu mini-image as per screenshots here:

Okay different browser offering different option around this situation.

But the best way is to just use the images as-is found in the filesystem. This way surely wont be any downscale neither in resolution nor in quality.

I guess we have fairly overtalked this topic now :)

Thanks both of you.
