BAGA140 2 Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Hi, Today I found out something really disturbing. I have an emby server runs on my windows pc, I set username and password to my user account but suddnly I saw that the Samsung TV (Tizen os I think) founds the emby server and all the libraries are fully accessible without enter any pasword or username or what so ever. In my android device I need to enter password, so why this is happens? Thank you!
ebr 16195 Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Hi. Is this via DLNA on the TV? How have you configured the DLNA in your Emby server? 1
BAGA140 2 Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 I don't know. My knowledge in this stuff is very small. the emby server appears when you wanna choose the tv input. I use the emby server as it is, I didn't change anything that was default.
Solution ebr 16195 Posted August 1, 2021 Solution Posted August 1, 2021 Yes, that would be DLNA. If you don't want this, go to "DLNA" under "Devices" in your server dashboard and disable the DLNA server. Or, configure it with a user with appropriate access that you do want.
BAGA140 2 Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 If I disable the DLNA emby won't show up on the tv anymore?
Carlo 4561 Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Hi, Correct, but keep in mind DLNA is only useful on your local network. DLNA isn't usuable outside your network so it really doesn't pose much of a security issue if that's what you may be worried about.
BAGA140 2 Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 Thank you. I'll try it and update if it solved my problem. This is really new to me 1
