Is there a way to create a library for Photos only?
The intention would be to create a "coming soon" library for movies and TV-Series (without the videos) where their posters can be shown with descriptions of the movie or TV-Series.

Would you be adding manually all the data (posters, fanart, actors, plot)?

Yes, Possibly

Hmmm, that's an interesting project, however I don't see it being feasible in the way you desire, without some sort of media file (either dummy or real). My suggestion would be to attach a trailer to it (download and rename it as a movie, not trailer), make a Mixed content type library and scrape as a regular movie (or provide nfo); that way users could check the item description, cast etc. and upon pressing Play would play the trailer, complete package. A bit of manual labor, though.

@GrimReaper76 "stole" my idea. :)

I would think downloading and renaming trailers to look like the movie would be the ideal way to handle this for a coming soon library.

This answer best fits my question.

If you want a nice library, then you have to do something for it!

Thanx @GrimReaper76

I have a coming soon library. I create a movie folder just like one with a real movie but name the media file like "Movie (2021).disc. I enter the appropriate metadata in manually and also retrieve its art work. I have never tried to enter metadata using metadata manager after a library scan.

Hi, if using ".disc" and a library type Movie I would think Emby would pickup the metadata for you automatically as it's a stub file.

Have you tried that?

No I haven't. I built my own Media Database prior to finding then MediaBrowser more than 15 years age and have continued to use that database to load metadata to Emby. I also select my art from various sources directly into the media folders.

Bottom line I don't have Emby scrape metadata.
