This price increase by Plex is freaking insane. I guess the millionaires that gave them money are demanding a return. Remember, they did get $50 million quite some time ago and were not exactly turning a profit.

I have noticed this as well but haven’t pin pointed why. I could be if you have made any changes in embys native Home Screen menu to the first home section, and then the plugin no longer recognizes it and creates a new. This is just a theory. Just got home from the hospital with a newborn , so it’s gonna take a few days/weeks before I can test myself. But if any one have time to troubleshoot/identify what or when this is happening please let me know Regarding the above discussion that multiple libraries with same movie is bad, the Emby devs have confirmed it’s only negative from a UI perspective. So I’m gonna keep the plugin using this method and I have a new release handling the UI duplicate and other bug fixes on the way when I get the time

What I have done to troubleshoot this, direct-play a 4k UHD file with atmos, 4k tv panel, earc hdmi jbl sound bar.: 1. delete app, reinstall: no bueno. crashes at different intervals 2. scaled down speed from 'direct play' to 1080p at 40mbps: crashes at diff intervals 3. I thought maybe it's the apple TV. It's running hot - and I noticed the fan was not spinning. Took it apart, installed new thermal paste, removed backside to allow more air flow: still crashes at diff intervals 4. Played the same file on a 1080 tv panel and different apple TV: crashed at different interval 5. Installed a 3" usb fan on the backside: still crashed at diff interval 6. I was thinking of tossing out the appleTV for a custom PC w/ emby theater app. Then I thought I would disable "pgs subtitle". Magic! - it played thru the same file without crashing. Will run some more tests and report back.

“Opensubtitle” is not a type of subtitle. The only types are internal and external which, as pointed out upthread, is already marked in Emby.

The hardware acceleration is only for OCR detection as it will have very little to no impact on the other detection methods. What you are seeing is the thumbnail extraction progress which does not use hardware either. I should add a disclaimer to that in the settings.

I’ve seen this on multiple Rokus with multiple users. No matter what I set in the webUI from my phone or PC, in Roku it will default to the Suggestions section within each library every time

It'd be great if server admins could generate a QR code for a user to scan with their app to connect to a server, without using EmbyConnect.

I haven't had time to reproduce this issue yet, but I've tested this on my desktop by just (the same movie) running in the backend and pausing it after some minutes. After waiting for some more minutes and resuming playback was normal so it seems to be something either specific to my network or the samsung app. Will keep you guys posted.

I'd really like to have 2 Factor Authentication added to the login screen. It's just this (optional) extra layer of security to help secure the server (which, especially if people use camera uploads) contains pretty private data. There are for every type of programming language quite a few libraries available, so implementation on a server shouldn't be too hard to realise

@crash1015 I wrote this quick custom CSS you can use in the General settings to hide search elements: .headerSearchButton {display: none;} .navDrawerSearchFieldContainer {display: none; } .drawer-search {display: none; } Hiding/disabling the search is not a good workaround for me or my users, so I am hoping this gets addressed soon. It's been months.

When setting up a new user I think it would be great if I could copy an existing user. Even better if you could copy certain aspects of a user like views , library access , parental settings

The default sort order is set to 'Folders'. I would prefer to have all libraries I select to default to release date. I know I can manually set it, but I have to do that for every folder in the library. I would like to see the ability to have it automatically set the default sort order for all new folders I create.

Would love to see this as well. In my mind this should be two-fold. Global setting per library, and the ability for users to overwrite their own personal preference per library in the same way as they choose their default landing page per library.

This FR is pretty straightforward, I'd love to see a global setting per library to set default sort order. Similarly on a user level be able to override that, just like how the user can set their default landing page per library. For example movies alphabetical is acceptable, but TV shows I might want it sorted by latest, and podcasts I may want to sort oldest, etc. Would also want this to be able to set the default sort order for episodes inside a podcast. The current alphabetical default is annoying as most podcasts don't start with a 3 digit episode number.

Yes and that is doable but in this case it shouldn't require that much fiddling. Since the podcasts plugin provides the content, it should also be able to pass the default sorting requirement along with it. So that's what we need to build.

+1 from me. I'm constantly having to reset the sort order for each individual podcast to 'Release Date' because the default sort is alphabetical (why?). Is there an xml file or something I could manually edit to override the default sorting?

bumping this. can we get a user management that can select a user then copy to any other users? making a library change is a pain without mass user deployment. looks like mass delete is the only thing we can do. possibly enable groups? home group remote group? this would allow easy sorting and selection

FR: Adding a keybind to increase or decrease playback speed on supported players (preferably web). suggested keybind(like in twitch player): < - decrease speed > - increase speed youtube use same keys, but requires (shift + <) (shift + >)

I checked this support page: https://emby.media/support/articles/Keyboard-and-Remote-Support.html But there doesn't seem to be one for playback speed. I think this would be a useful feature, same as when holding spacebar on a Youtube video, the playback speed jumps to 2x as long as the spacebar is held. A frequently used feature for me.

+1 quite an essential feature for me as well ideally you'd be able to change the default view/image size/shown fields/sort order per library and the settings are synced across different devices

Clearing device cache is something I'm willing to do. As long as I can set a consistent experience (or new experience) due to updates I've made in Emby, whether its new plugins, or new core features, or settings that sensibly could be considered global. For libraries, we seem to be acknowledging the same point - Libraries are NOT automatically applied globably - that is not a complaint I'm making. However, having to go into each user and set access for them (including my default admin user) one at a time is. Most of us probably dont share with more than a few dozen people... but either way - applying library access to "all users" is indeed a feature for something useful. I just listed a few examples.

+1 for this. Just set up all of my favorite podcasts on Emby and having to change the sort order to Release Date for every device for every user for every podcasts means a lot of manually changing sort orders. Would love if the admin has the ability to set a default sort order per library, and each user had the ability to override that default per library, and have it reflect across all devices. Because while release date makes the most sense for podcasts, title makes the most sense for movies.

Can GENRES be added next to collections onthe horizontal view home screen please? Too many clicks to click 'Movies' then scroll along to top menu option for GENRES (genres at end of list) The FEATURED large image on the home screen (horizontal view like LG app and Emby Theatre) does not need to be THAT big so plenty of room. Also could the FEATURED random movie have a label at the top of the image tile or somewhere saying FEATURED? Its then obvious what that square is for any new users. Thanks...
