I ignored the first rule of a home network. When in doubt reboot the router. I was blindsided that everything else was working and Emby server could be accessed by external PC and local Android Tablet. One tends to forget that (in the UK) the routers from BT and Virgin etc are cheap as chips electronics from Taiwan/China etc. Anyway - rebooted router - loaded Emby on Firestick - found my Win11 Server straight away and we are back in business. Not the first time in my 40 years in computing that I missed the obvious.

It's in my "TV" library and And... shoulda tested. I just fired up the first unwatched episode and I do get a "Skip Intro" button. I confirmed before trying the above that it did not. Now the question is, why didn't it generate it when it first imported on the 1st or 2nd of March...

Hi, I think you may have possibly misunderstood the requirement??? You should ideally be able to keep ARTIST as the embedded metadata individual artist(s) for the specific relevant tracks. You then need to ensure you have an additional embedded metadata field called ALBUMARTIST that pertains to the whole album as opposed to the individual songs. Once you have the separate ARTIST tags plus the overall ALBUMARTIST tag of (e.g.) "Various Artists" then Emby will combine the songs into the required Album. The official Emby documentation about this is here: https://emby.media/support/articles/Music-Naming.html From you screenshot it doesn't look like you have any ALBUMARTIST or ALBUM ARTIST tags? You can also check this with the metadata editor within Emby, but it is best to make any modifications required with you embedded metadata with a tagging program and then rescan into Emby. Cheers!

Everything in the James Bond collection with Daniel Craig in the cast, for example, which would auto-update if he came back and played Bond in another movie (which is unlikely, but if we were having this conversation back in 2007...).

That would be super cool, nice idea!! At the top of my head that would very much be possible! We get the list from Trakt or MDBList, check what movies we have in the library and if they also pass a filter based of local database info. For a future update I'm absolutely gonna look into this!

I figured out what caused the issue. It is all good. It was an issue with the user I run emby as that was not part of the render group.

However, I'm curious if there are other music apps out there that might offer better Android Auto integration and smarter playlist creation. I'm looking for an app that: Can use my Emby server as the backend for music playback Has Android Auto support for seamless use in my vehicle Offers advanced playlist features, ideally with smart filtering and dynamic options If you've tried other music apps that work well with Emby and fit these criteria, I'd love to hear your recommendations! A lot of people using Emby Music end up running multiple apps or test builds, especially when trying different plugins or setups.

I'm still baffled by the lack of functionality in the download part of Emby. Just the bare minimum of pause, stop, restart, progression and ETA, speed, and maybe even changing download order if we're being fancy.

I've been using Emby for some years now, and every single time I dread having to download stuff in Emby. Always, always, always are there issues. Either some files are not converting, not downloading or something else. And yet again.. A movie wouldn't convert for whatever reason, nothing happens, and it blocked all the other downloads. Other movies were "Ready to transfer" - but never did. I just removed all the downloads and tried again.. stuck on "Ready to transfer" still. I'm so tired having to baby Emby just to get a few movies on my tablet and phone. Could the download function in Emby get some love and attention soon? As is it's terrible. Not just bad, but actually terrible.

I would love to weigh in on the emby app for music. A wish list as it were, I have used it for years, and love the fact that I can link into already casted music and control from anywhere. I love the artwork though think it ruins it a bit with album art over the top of artist images, would love it if it was at the bottom of the screen and smaller to benefit all of the artwork. Playlist resume and album resume is non existent and where symphonium excels. If swapping between networks this can become tedious and you have to start playlists/favourite songs over again rather than resume what is already started. Lack of equalisation is a big one, I have traditionally used emby app at home (chromecast audio) and synced a playlist to my phone for power amp to use. Creating this playlist is a chore, with symphonium I can create a smart playlist of favourite songs and cache it. It also has a rolling cache. I have seen the resume function requested quite a few times. Emby is the Swiss army knife here and is an excellent server. Symphonium is a good dedicated music app and finally a way to get the best out of emby music, highly customisable etc. I would love to see a native WiiM integration like it to handle multi room at home as chromecast audio is no longer supported and has limitations. Just some feedback from a loyal patron Oh better Home Assistant support would be great too.

I would like to have the option to view and play the Libraries as they are stored on the server: by Folders. It seems that it would be a great feature. I would prefer to use it. I've made also a similar request for the Android app.

i've been reading this thread, i've been searching for a solution but i don't see it: - when i go to my music and open the folder view, i see all the folders. but when i open a folder i only get track name instead of "artist - track" information. all my folders containt various artists so when i open it i expect to see both artist and track, just like i would in a playlist. they're actually all formed like playlists. all of the files are properly tagged. is there a possibility to see both "artist - track" in folders and not only "track"? i can't seem to find a solution. i will see all of them if i play the folder and go to the playlist, but i'd really like to see the "artist - track" view in the folders for music.

I just create a account to say that FOLDER feature is the 1st thing that will make me THINK move to emby... MB is not perfect... other server too. But if MB is not even able to offer basic feature like folder... that is part of the system that MB use to come alive... then sorry. It is not because MB is free that we have nothing to say. Even windows, linux, mac os etc... are able to show me my files in a structured fashion. Like I put them to find my stuff. With MB I am lost. MB give gold and diamond... But if I can NOT even find a show... Even MB search feature didn't help so I have to turn it off. I have over 3-4Tb of TV show series... Anims with n# episode and season... MB is unable blaaa blaaa blaaa Mean MB suck at simple thing so still haven't ask for complex thing... like scan 5hrs or more my library... I don't even complaint if he do a good job. BUT it don't!! Please if you put FOLDERS option to "music"... don't wait next year to put it in "pictures"... n then another year to have it in "movie trailer'???... and the n,.... then another one to the... Or just tell us that feature is not possible to implement in emby n will never been. Sorry If I am a bit harsh lol We are Version 3... N basic feature not working. On my server my music is organised by artists/albums and in Various Artists folder I have around 1.5 - 2TB of music. We need folder view because sometimes is more easy to browse into a folder then album/artist/song.... do you know how a collection of more then 4TB of music will look like with current configuration/search options? This is why we need this extra option.

Please add a real folder view option. Enhanced presentation for music or any other setting I've tried is not working correctly.

I'm also requesting this feature, sorely lacking this option. In particular this applies to music. I have big hierarchy of folders with my music collection. And I can not perceive my collection in the current view in Emby. Library view from my collection makes such a mess that it is not possible find something. If I turn off Enhanced presentation for my music collection in View Styles, Then emby generates huge playlists on the root folder, which is very awkward and this freezes my browser.
