  1. I was just listening to my playlist and wondering which song was currently playing. Can you spot it? It would be nice if this would be much clearer, for example: Also the white animated gif is very unclear. Perhaps adding some (black) borders around the bars or turning it into a svg with transitions so it can be changed during runtime?

  3. Home screen settings for the account in question are configured to have the default screen for every library as "Movies" or "Shows". However depending on where you click for each library some links will ignore this setting and always go to "suggestions". The my media lists at the top of the page and the side bar both work fine. But the heading above each individual library does not. This seems to be a server-side bug as it affects all the web client, android and the new linux beta. (I am technically running this on linux server, but based on what this is I expect it probably affects all versions of server)

  4. Downloading subtitles in the TV app is very annoying, you have move one by one until you go to the language you are looking for and in the TV the switching interface is very slow. wanted to suggest a better way to display the language menu for the TV app, because you use a tv controller and there is no scrolling. I did an example for a better understanding, in the preferred part I put the languages that are set in the server to automatically download. When I want to download subtitles I avoid the TV app, I rather use the phone or the Ipad because unlike the TV app, you can scroll fast and go directly to the language you want.

  12. I've added settings for some other wise hardcoded values to icon placements. I also fixed the filename rule bug that put an icon in for every file name hit. Pictures speak louder than words. @GrimReaperThe last one there might be of interest to you, again it's the best i can do as everything is % based so hard to make everything move independently. WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! This is a beta and should only be used on a test server as bugs might have been overlooked or new once have snugged in. Keep in mind that enabling everything at once might be CPU intensive for smaller CPU's so keep an eye on your CPU usage if using small and/old CPUs! Testing has been done on a system with Ryzen 3900x with no noticeable slow down, granted that isn't a small CPU. A thank you to @Neminemfor testing the caching optimizations i did so i could add the extra features and reminding me that a save button would be needed. A thank you to all for the suggestions as well! Don't be afraid to come with suggestions even though i might be more and more inclined to reject them as the plugin gets bigger and bigger. 18. Assuming CoverArt hasn't changed since last i used it. EmbyIcons allows for more customizations for where and how the overlays should be shown. Overlays for TV shows, like showing for example german subtitles if all episodes in a TV show has those subtitles. Also gives more icons types and is more customizable. CoverArt is an absolute great plugin and is very close to install and just use. EmbyIcons requires a bit of tinkering after install as it's settings and possibilities are more comprehensive. Please note: While EmbyIcons doesn't require a huge CPU or anything like that it still requires a fairly modern CPU if enabling all features.

  19. Not the app, but the TV. Take the TV for what it is: a dumb monitor. Everything with and on the TV is a non-free locked-down walled garden. Don't settle for that crap - every China-stick for 20 bucks is light years ahead, you don't need the gold standard "Shield". TV'S and especially LG won't even manage to send multichannel PCM over EARC. I wrote about 50 E-Mails to all levels of support in the last years - they don't give a shit! If you need true HD, the Fire or Raspberry does it without problems.

  20. Iconic: You can add custom icons/images (and now tailor their placement if inclined to do so), works on Mixed content-type libraries CoverArt: sub/audio choices/selections are more granular Generally, some more scenarios are covered that are not feasible in CoverArt and/or Iconic.

  22. Hi SamES, I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding regarding how the Nvidia Shield TV Pro operates compared to native TV apps like those on LG (webOS) or Samsung (Tizen). While it is true that native TV apps are often limited by the OS and hardware to lossy Dolby Digital Plus (DD+), the Nvidia Shield is a completely different beast. I have my Shield connected to an LG C3 OLED, which then passes the audio via eARC to my Samsung Q990D soundbar. I can confirm that when using the Emby app on the Shield, it correctly performs passthrough for lossless TrueHD (Atmos). My soundbar explicitly displays 'Dolby Atmos' (TrueHD) and not just 'Dolby Digital'. The limitation you mentioned applies to the native LG webOS app—which, in my experience, often struggles with licenses and even downgrades Atmos to basic Dolby Digital (not even Plus) during certain updates. However, claiming that the Shield has the same limitation within the app is incorrect; the Shield is specifically designed to handle these high-definition passthrough formats without conversion, provided the hardware chain (TV eARC and Soundbar) supports it, which mine does perfectly Hi SamES, In addition to everything described above, I would also like to add that, to further clarify, there is a massive performance gap between the Nvidia Shield TV Pro and the native LG webOS app that goes beyond just audio. In my setup (Shield TV Pro -> LG C3 -> Samsung Q990D via eARC), the Shield handles lossless TrueHD (Atmos) perfectly. My soundbar explicitly displays 'Dolby Atmos' (TrueHD), proving that the bitstream passthrough is working exactly as intended. The Shield does NOT convert Atmos to basic Dolby Digital; it is designed specifically to avoid that limitation. On the other hand, the native LG app is a complete disaster. Not only does it often fail to passthrough Atmos (downgrading it to basic Dolby Digital, not even Plus), but it also struggles with Dolby Vision metadata. I’ve noticed that when the LG app encounters certain audio tracks it can't handle, it seems to go into a 'protection mode' or forces a transcode that breaks the video layer. As a result, I often see the TV trigger HDR10 instead of Dolby Vision, which is absurd for a high-end OLED C3. This inconsistency doesn't happen on the Shield. Because the Shield supports Direct Play for both TrueHD and various Dolby Vision profiles, the server doesn't need to touch the file. Everything stays intact. Claiming the Shield app has the same limitations as the LG or Samsung native apps is simply incorrect; the Shield is the only way to actually get the full quality out of a setup like mine.

  26. I don't understand why it can't just be an option. It doesn't have to be the default. I don't even care if it's a hidden option and I have to edit a config file somewhere.

  27. The suggestions page doesn't make sense as a follow up for that purpose. The home page shows 16 items. Clicking the library takes you to suggestions which also shows those exact same 16 items. If that were the logic it should be going to the full list and enabling sort by added date filtering automatically. As of right now you have to go to suggestions, then click again on the heading to get to the actual list and then manually add those sort options. So it takes several clicks to get to what you originally wanted to do. Rather than following the user settings and doing it in 1 click.

  29. Yes - I found this web site and I used it to compare and ask gracenote to get the channel numbrs checked out for Sky Q. Not found an official Sky.com web page listing the Sky Q channels. Their changes web page does mention satellite channel numbers relating to the changes and I presume these would be Sky Q channel numbers - but for Sky Sports channels, only the rebadging for 412 to be Sky Sports Action is mentioned. These are the discrepancies I found between the Sky Q lineup for West and the list on the TVCL page. I asked gracenote to look into them

  32. The reported problem has been solved in the meantime. The trouble had been created by a recent upgrade of UNRAID OS. In previous Unraid releases a public accessible media folder did not require any credentials. Unraid has changed this and since Vers. 7.xx credentials (user name and password) are required for any public folder. And when accessing such a public folder by a WIN 10/11 device, another obstacle came in play. I did configure now identical credentials in Windows , Emby and Unraid and now the playback of any media stored in the public media folder of the Unraid Server works. Thank you for your proper advisory which was a great help to solve my problem.

  33. Thank you, Luke! You helped me in the past, about five years ago, with my initial server. Glad to find you again. The transfer is going smoothly. I’ve noticed that I just need to be patient and go show by show, setting it to download only missing metadata. Since my .nfo files are mostly complete, it ends up downloading only the missing images without changing anything in the .nfo files, which is what I want. Thanks again.

  35. Hey, I would like to request a better "Refresh Metadata" experience, especially when refreshing a whole library. My experience after starting the refresh is the following: The progress jumps to 90% very quick and the last 10% are slow (which is where the actual work happens i guess). Would be nice if you can rework the progress indicator to represent just the items that are refreshing (e.g. 1000 items -> 1 is fully done -> 0.1%) and also display the progress as a task in the dashboard (like the library scans). A cool extra thing would be the possibility to cancel a refresh task and notifications for started, done, aborted. Thanks for reading and please let me know if thats something you would like to change/implement.

  36. So I just had a trailer before a movie last night that I hadn't seen before, I like the idea of random because then it's constantly introducing me to new movies that I maybe haven't seen, don't have in my collection, or is in my collection by have forgotten about. I'm not really wanting to maintain a folder and download Trailers, because then I'd have to spend time finding new trailers to add. The trailers how they are don't seem random, if I start a Disney animated movie i showed me back to back Disney trailers, if I played a shoot em up movie, it showed me two other shoot em up movies, if I started a horror it showed me trailers related in the same genre, would be great to just be purely random...

  37. I think most of my issues with trailers are documented in the other trailers plugin thread, but this comment possibly explains why the issues are persisting. Emby seems to be trying too hard to find "relevant" trailers, which forces certain trailers to be repeated over and over again. And if emby cannot find a suitable trailer, it just plays one for the movie you are already watching. If I'm watching indiana jones, i dont want two trailers for indiana jones. If I'm watching Mission Impossible 3, I don't want trailers for trailers for Mission Impossible 1 & 2. Not even two comedy trailers when watching a comedy. The only restriction I would like is no trailer above the age rating of the movie being shown. Thanks.
