  1. @LukeAny update on this? We’ve had quite a few new betas released and not a word on this (still present) issue.

  2. @drpicklesI would call the ISP and ask for a Static IP ( It might cost you a few extra $ ) but well worth it.

  3. Yup, your router is seeing this as your WAN ip. You are behind CGNAT and will have to look for a solution around that. You cannot forward ports. I don't have a whole lot of advice for that as I've not had to deal with it myself. I know cloudflare tunnels is a popular method, but hopefully someone else with experience there can chime in too. @GrimReapermaybe?

  4. Split the versions, scan the files - and then re-group them. It's a workaround, but it will work.

  5. Guess what? Due to the lack of any kind of telemetry (for stable versions), we have no idea and are up to make guesses, same like anybody else

  6. i still use emby live tv, but the only thing it gives me over jellyfin is the guide data for antenna tv. would be nice if emby improved its live tv features and tune times.

  7. Hi. It is an important distinction as the two data paths are completely different but you were using one to justify the performance of another.

  8. Make sure it matches the WAN IP of your router, not your server. This is because the server is getting the same information you did from the site. You want to make sure the WAN interface on your router also has the same IP. Otherwise it's double-NAT or CGNAT.

  9. Thanks but too long on this library (1 hour+). I found a way: Go to the serie frontpage -> 3-dots: "Scan library files" -> It works only for the default version! Example: for the serie "Industry", i have 2 versions: FHD & UHD format -> 2 folders. Only the folder for FHD format is scanned, how can i scan files for the second version where my SRT file is?
    1 point
  10. How are you looking for the change - if in a browser, then you simply may need to just refresh the page as the cache will show the previous 'non SRT' version of the page.

  11. Never mind, I never noticed that side scroll bar, I guess this is just bad UX design, there is no indication of anything existing below that screen I have found the incorrect image there and removed it

  12. It doesn't say that at all. The "subtitle encoding regression" was in an earlier beta, and has nothing to do with the subtitle positioning. I don't think they're even working on this.

  14. I think it would be nice to have the Audience Rating (icon) / Audience Score for movies along with the Critic Rating (icon) / Critic Score. It looks like the data is available from the Rotten Tomatoes API via the ratings field. 14 "ratings": { 15 "critics_rating": "Certified Fresh", 16 "critics_score": 99, 17 "audience_rating": "Upright", 18 "audience_score": 91
    1 point
  15. It would be nice to be able to show the RT audience score at least when the scoring was sourced manually and entered into the .nfo-file. In Kodi this is possible with certain Skins. For example: <ratings> <rating name="imdb" max="10" default="true"> <value>6.400000</value> <votes>171581</votes> </rating> <rating name="metacritic" max="10"> <value>6.000000</value> <votes>47</votes> </rating> <rating name="themoviedb" max="10"> <value>6.200000</value> <votes>3859</votes> </rating> <rating name="tomatometerallaudience" max="10"> <value>4.900000</value> <votes>87630</votes> </rating> <rating name="tomatometerallcritics" max="10"> <value>5.000000</value> <votes>276</votes> </rating> </ratings> This way Emby hasn't anything to do with obtaining the data. And it's the user's obligation to make sure every data is acquired rightfully. Or am i wrong with this? And i agree with the general sentiment in this thread against the critics scores. They are basically misleading and therefore worthless.

  16. Also, while you are reporting this, they have sky one on channel 113. It's actually on 106

  17. So I'm getting muly channel line up from here: https://rxtvinfo.com/sky-satellite-channel-list-uk/ This matches what you have posted for sky Sports channels and the content matches the channel number, it just the channel numbers are wrong in gracenote's setup and as you have pointed out, wrong listing's (402 channel saying 502 In listings)

  21. Yep, I manually check each and every item, unless it already looks complete. In the case of The Prodigy I think it's because searching the terms "The+Prodigy" returns both artists and alphabetically "Prodigy" would be first. Oh well. This duplication glitch hasn't happened anymore, probably because I moved "items to sort" to first land outside of Emby's library folders. I did have another similar issue where one song from an album wouldn't be added to the album playlist and would show as a separate entry. Like before; removing the item from the library -> scanning -> adding it back in solved the trick. I personally have a feeling that something weird is going on with the Music indexer, not really looking at the current path or meta data once if it's processed once already.

  22. I have settled for: Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) Android TV box Aurevita 7 inch mini-monitor with HDMI The Android TV outputs HDMI to the Denon transceiver. The transceivers HDMI output/monitor is connected to the 7 inch monitor. It works very well. The only thing I'm fiddling with is power/energy/screensaver. I would like to make this as easy as possible for our family. I would like to power on/off the Denon, and it should power on/off the Android TV box with HDMI CEC. But maybe it only works the other way around (power on/of the Android TV, which in turn controls on/of the transceiver). The display itself will go into standby when there is no input, so that's fine. I can not have the Android TV power-off the display (as a screensaver) because that will shut off the Denon.

  23. No problem. I agree. Separating specific genres/non-general media is the way to go. I've done the same with Anime and Documentary tv shows / series. Makes browsing a little more comfortable as well.

  25. I have been using Drivepool for many many years with Emby, and wanted to add to this thread: You should NOT be interacting with the actual drives if you are using Drivepool, you should only mount the Pool and use that for Emby, just forget the actual drives exist, Drivepool will manage those drives, and all you will see on them is a hidden folder with the Poolpart IDs In fact you don't even need to mount them with drive letters, you can just have them as folders so you don't have to see them in your File Explorer For example here is one of my Drivepools The actual disks are not listed in My Computer or File Explorer The actual disks are just mounted as folders (I mount them as the serial number so its easy to keep track of which disk is what if I have a failure: I recommend you adding SSD disks as cache drives as well, you can configure that in Drivepool under plugins.

  26. https://whatismyipaddress.com/ Does the IP displayed here, match the WAN IP shown in your routers management page? If not, there's something in between, typically cgnat. https://portchecker.co/check-v0 If the IPs do match, does this show the port you want as open? (8096, 443, or whichever you've chosen) If not; there's likely a misconfigured port forward (Could be the LAN IP isn't actually static like you expect; some devices spoof their MAC by default, and this can annoyingly change with updates.) or potentially your ISP is blocking the port you want. (I can't host on port 80 for example, doesn't get past the ISP)

  27. Just wanted to say it worked! This is all I ever wanted. I'm using a homatics r 4k box that can play dolby vision profile 7 FEL (only from mkv) and using coreelec it can also play 4k bluray iso in dolby vision (without FEL) but still.. It's the best we can get from a single device. Emby managing artwork and library.. beautiful interface in kodi and iso support. That's great. Thank you for your hard work in this addon.

  28. @gu5gus The section '[tmdbid=264660]' is the important bit for troublesome files. It tells emby to ignore the rest of the name and just match the file directly to the database ID provided. I include TMDBIDs in every video filename for good measure. Never EVER have a problem since switching to that scheme. If you use Radarr/Sonarr, these IDs can be added automatically by modifying the file/folder naming formats in settings.

  31. Request No. 1: Implement Metascore rating for movies, from Metacritic.com, in Emby. OMDb api provides this information. Request No. 2: Also, fix an option in settings to enable or disable a ratings source according to the user's choice.

  32. I recently found a need to look up additional information on a director. I was hoping to look at the director's profile and see not only the movies I had in my collection but also a list of other movies that they have directed. This would be displayed below the library's current movies. ex: My movies: Movie 1, Movie 2 Other movies by this person: Movie 3, Movie4 ================ This could help one expand their library and to discover a missing gem.

  33. Can we get the ability to create read only API keys? Or even better, the ability to control the scope of each API key eg similar to user permissions. As an example use case, I have set up Jellyseerr which links in to emby via the API to read media, users, sync libraries etc to function. However it needs no ability to write and modify my emby settings and configuration (*as far as i know from my limited current experience with it). If my jellyseerr were to be compromised eg through a vulnerability in a dependency or the jellyseerr code itself (supply chain attacks are getting ever more common) then the attacker would have full access to the emby server via the read / write API key and could attack my emby server from that. I understand that this is likely a niche request from a security conscious user but it would be a real bonus to emby imo

  34. So I was curious about how Emby handled visual seeking as I noticed it can be a bit slower than other services, even on a decent network connection. After investigating I found that Emby gets the visual seeking thumbnails by making individual web requests for preview thumbnails. I investigated how other platforms did this like YouTube and I found that they make fewer requests for visual seeking and each request contains an image of multiple preview thumbnails to reduce the web requests needed. I have attached screenshots of what I am talking about if you want a visual example. As much as I would like to see this happen, it most likely will not happen for a very long time or even at all as it would has significant costs because it would require the visual seeking system for all clients to be rewritten.

  36. This, so much this! Todays critics have started to make me believe they are actually just paid marketing shills with how they score movies and shows. Audience score tend to more reliably reflect what i think as well. A setting in Emby to change between Audience and critic score or both would be great.

  37. Audience score is far more valuable to me than critical rating.

  38. Are we able to add our own media profiles for the convert options? Currently I see mobile and TV, I would like to make an HD option, keeping the original audio track, but knocking 4k down to 1080. Maybe custom bitrate of "original quality" already does this? Guess I should try that first.

  39. Hello Devs. I'm on a Windows 7 machine and noticed, that every time I add new material to my media folders the complete library gets a rescan. This causes to a huge delay of the new items being added to the library if your entire library is as huge as mine. Isn't it possible to just scan the new created items instead of all? Should be possible on Windows, dont know about other Systems...

  40. Hello, I already have a Movies library for 1080p content however, I would like to add another Movies library for UHD (4K) content. Currently, if I create another Movies library with the title, UHD Movies, each UHD movie that also has an identically titled counterpart in the original Movies library for 1080p content shares the same play status progress and subsequently, 2 thumbnail images are displayed on the homescreen under the Continue Watching heading. One which is linked to the 1080p movie, and another for the UHD movie. Is there any way to disassociate the movie libraries by creating a library content type for us called 4K Movies or UHD Movies that will contain it's own unique play state information? Or, allow us to name our own content type to create the split which we will also then select it's parent content type from the existing list. Many thanks

  41. Feature request: Roadmap/Development transparency In scrolling through the current feature requests, and having put in a few myself, I'm curious: How many upvotes does a feature request need to get before you guys actually start working on it? Is there a certain number of votes per period of time, or how do you decide what actually gets worked on? I ask because I often see a feature request, and the response is generally something along the lines of: If the Emby Team already agrees with the user, the script goes: Emby team - "It's something we'd like to do in the future, thanks." But no timeline is given. A year goes by and it still hasn't been implemented, so the user asks again, and gets a response similar to: Emby team - "We are working as hard as possible to make everyone as happy as we possibly can. Thanks." User gets frustrated, asks for an ETA, response is like: Emby team - "Hi. We have never stated this feature was slated for any particular release. It is planned for the future but not under active development yet." 2.5 years have gone by for this feature request, with almost 30 upvotes, and active development isn't even on the horizon. If the Emby Team disagrees with the user request, the script goes something like: Emby team - "This is why we think the way we are doing things is right, thanks" Users - "Hey, I see what you are saying, but here are 9 reasons I disagree" Emby team - responds to 1 point of the 9 made to tell the user they are wrong, or that that 1 little point isn't relevant, ignores the other 8 points User - gets frustrated, keeps pushing Emby team - "This thread is here to gauge user interest, we will see how many upvotes it gets and may implement it in the future" Years go by, thread gets upvoted, feature never gets implemented. The highest upvoted feature request right now in the top 20 pages of this forum has 63 requests (not even counting how many similar threads may have been locked for being duplicates), and it's not even under active development at this time, despite being created by a developer and being over 2.5 years old. To get ahead of some of the responses I'm sure I'll get, let me just say: -I absolutely appreciate that Emby exists, and I appreciate and respect the time that goes into its creation and development. I know that developing a program takes time. -Yes, I am a premiere subscriber -No, I'm not just trying to complain about this. I am simply asking for realistic responses that actually have usable substance and transparency. Some actual follow through or a roadmap so that users know if their requests are even being considered for active development, rather than waiting for ages only to be told that the item they thought was getting worked on or had a chance at being worked on isn't anywhere on the horizon. -Yes, I do really love Emby, and I want to see it grow and get better, which is why I have chosen to give you guys my money, and why I recommend it to people. Unfortunately, that doesn't negate my frustration with this current process.

  42. I'm not sure if this has been requested already, I couldn't find it. Would it be possible to have an indicator of which version of a movie or episode the user is watching during playback? The text from the preplay screen used to select the version could could be used and displayed next to the movie or episode title when it's displayed during playback. I noticed recently when playing a movie I have with 2 versions that I made my selection and as the movie was loading the selection within the version menu changed to the other version. As both versions of this movie have very similar lengths and bitrates it made me realise there is no way to determine which version the server is actually playing.

  43. I hope this is not considered necroing, Im reading this as a feature request for rotten tomato audience score. I get the sense reviewers and movie makers are becoming more political, So im finding the audience score more valuable then the imdb score or the tomatometer. The difference between the tomato meeter and audience score on the last movie i saw was 50%, The difference between the audience score and imdb was even larger. This was on a movie with more then 86000 audience reviews. So i want to add my support to this feature, And i have liked the post.

  44. Similar to films, whereas the extras are shown below the listing. Could be on episode info page. This could be handy for shows like The Flash, who's DVD releases have episode specific extras, such as deleted scenes or interviews, while there are season-based special features as well. How likely is this to be added to Emby? Opinions?

  46. Hello! I love Emby, but the limitation of SQLite makes it impossible to scale this across multiple nodes. I think it would be better for anyone if there were an option to use Postgres (or MySQL or Mongo or whatever) so that we could scale it to multiple nodes, as I think this would put less strain the devices when multiple users are streaming and transcoding. I thought about adding this myself (I'm a software engineer), and I think I could, but from what I'm seeing it looks like it would be a relatively big ripping of the `ManagedConnection` by making it use some kind of `IDatabase` or something. I'm not opposed to doing it, but currently the only language I use for work is F#, and while I would be happy to write a Postgres driver in a super-duper-functional style, I don't know that that would be approved upstream, and my OOP experience is a bit out of date. -Thomas Gebert.

  47. Problem: "Cast and Crew" is a combined list such that the most important Crew members (Director, Writer) are listed after the most uninvolved actors. Often, this means a user has to click the "more" button (web client) or hunt somewhere in the middle of a long list to find the director. Suggestion: Separate "Cast and Crew" into two lists so it is clear where crew begins. Alternatively, move director to a more prominent positon in the movie view. It's a small thing, but I think many users like to click on a director or writer to see "other works" in their collection and right now those guys are buried in the list.

  48. Would it be possible to support users logging in via a url scheme say using basic auth like: https://user:pass@localhost:8920 OR by using GET params such as https://localhost:8920?user=username&pass=password Heck I would even take passing a token to use https://localhost:8920?api_token=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I would like to be able to log users in automatically if they authenticated somewhere else. Specifically we just rolled out emby login support in Organizr v1.31 (https://github.com/causefx/Organizr) so if a user authenticates with their emby username I would like to be able to log them into Emby simultaneously. Thanks!

  49. Hi, Straightforward request. It would be great if all the library scan, fanart updates etc could be written to a separate log. I always try to follow "How to report a problem". But I am concerned that all of my content is iterated and logged in the "Log". Some people may have privacy issues and unless the problem reported stems from the library scan those entries provide no value. A by product is the "log" would be much smaller and to the point. Thanks for considering remember to like if you want this "feature" as well -Vicpa
