  1. Unless the Universal Installer has changed since I last used it you still need to disable read only mode in steamos before running the installer: steamos-readonly disable After installing you can turn back on read only mode.

  3. These will be deprecated without replacement. No, it's not for developers. That's why we have the universal installer script. You can't do anything wrong that way.

  4. Seeing that it's 2026, i would expect more than 3 current trailers. Is it from a playlist that someone maintains on YouTube? What's the criteria for something to show up in here?

  5. Android Automotive. Not to be confused with Android Auto. "As compared to Android Auto, Android Automotive is a full operating system that can power the entire experience when driving. It’s installed on the head unit available in the cabin, so it’s in charge of everything from the moment you turn on the engine to the one when you leave the car. -AutoEvolution.com" I have Android Automotive in my Polestar 2. And while its not as popular as Android Auto yet, its pretty impressive. Its gaining more traction too. I hear GMC, Cadillac and many others are using it now too. Emby, please add a compatible app for Android Automotive in the google play store. Are there any plans for this?

  6. I use Dispatcharr as an IPTV proxy that assigns multiple backup streams to each channel. When a stream experiences issues (buffering, stuttering, or complete failure), Dispatcharr automatically fails over to the next available stream in the sequence. Current Issue: When Emby encounters a problem connecting to a Live TV channel, it tends stops the connection attempt entirely after a few seconds. Even though Dispatcharr switches to a backup stream on the backend, Emby has already stopped trying to connect and does not automatically retry. Requested Solution: Add configurable settings for Live TV channels: Connection timeout duration (time to wait before considering a stream failed) Auto-reconnect behavior (automatically retry connection after timeout) Number of retry attempts This would allow Emby to detect when a stream has failed and automatically reconnect, which would then pick up the backup stream that Dispatcharr has switched to. Also, as a bonus, adding native Xtream Codes (XC) functionality would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Yea, that's the plan. Snap is not much loved by people anyway. The main benefit is that you can have an app in the software catalog that people can find right away on a fresh OS install by just searching for "emby" in the software center. We probably won't give that up, but rather maybe transform it into something which loads the installer to install new app through the new package repo or similar, we'll see...

  10. New release - Version 2.2.1.0. Download .dll here: https://github.com/soderlund91/AutoTag/releases/tag/v2.2.1.0 Also attached to this post Bug fixes: Cache: Resolved a bug where newly created lists returned zero results if the list haven'tbeen populated by MDBList yet. The plugin now forces a fresh fetch to ensure data is displayed as soon as the list is populated. AutoTag.dll

  17. I didn't add one like that because shows tends to change a lot between seasons. I'm considering making a complete chapter editor in the near future, when/if that gets made i will make a function like that.

  19. Emby Theater is Electron based. it plays laggin/jittering video in Wayland (i didn't check in gamescope though). Maybe there is a workaround related to HW acceleration, but I didn't bother, since i was impressed by this beta app

  21. One upside I didn't see coming was for using Infuse as a player. It does thave a "next episode" button but that only appears if one manually makes the timeline appear on screen and then the button can be pressed. The "Skip Credits" button on the other hand appears regardless and doesn't have to be put on screen manually.

  22. Issue is I believe both these options are actually user per client settings. And are not controlled by css. Not sure if the new copy data to user function in Beta would help here.

  23. I've decided to try my hand at creating a dashboard that will allow you to control multiple servers in a single pane of glass. I originally designed it to work for Emby but then added Plex and Jellyfin support as my "oh, this seems interesting" factor grew. I know there are Dashboards for each platform, but none seem designed around multiple servers. So this project will display all your servers, how many viewers, detail about their sessions, etc. You can scan libraries and even search for users/media that are active across all servers. I'm finding it a hoot to play with so I thought I'd share it if anyone wants to give it a go. My thought behind this was to quickly see connected users and be able to search by a username and find out which server they are on, what kind of container they are watching - quickly for troubleshooting. Yes, the built in dashboards are FAR more extensible, but this was originally conceived as a Home Assistant dashboard I could have running on a tablet. I'm *not* a coder - I have some "better than basic" understanding of PHP but I'm an old dude and therefore behind the times. I did make use of the "Jules" platform to assist in the coding. Bascially, please be gentle, I'm sure there are 1000 ways for this to be improved ... I just wanted to play an little and try to give something back to a community I care so much for. The project is on GutHub @ https://github.com/Tophicles/dash - screenshots and docs are there.

  24. Same here. I think flatpak would solve it mainly for immutble distros such as Bazzite and SteamOS. (SteamOS is a big chunk of linux desktop users as of today)

  25. +1 for flatpak - I dare say that would already be on the radarr though. Current build seems to be mostly working for me, however I keep finding myself defaulting to the browser version more often than not out of habit from not having a usable linux app for the longest time.

  26. I think having a flatpak package would solve it. Many linux distros support it (Bazzite, SteamOS, Arch based, etc)

  27. Hi, neither People nor Studio fields/tags currently work for Music as far as I am aware. Although they do still appear in the Metadata Editor: Therefore, there are likely only a few workaround ways to get extra People added and displayed for Music: Use the Genres and Tags fields that work (as per above image) Add additional People to the dedicated music fields: Album Artist, Artist, Composer Add the extra People and their contribution into the relevant Overview text E.g. you could add "person (writer)" to the Composer field and they would show up under the Composer tab. Likewise, a contributing Artist could be added to the Artist field. Either way, presently, you would possibly need to come up with you own preferred system to show additional people using the available fields.

  30. The screen loads after a couple of seconds. I see the spinner, then the first row of books. I see a small scrollbar which disappears after the a-z side bar appears. After that scrolling lower fails with mouse or keyboard.

  33. once again this seems to be a never ending emby story. As i saw when this topic startet i already knew, this is another dead end on emby side. This is really so frustrating, as luke is writing since the beginning this is "planned for a future update" everytime i read this, i know it is just a far far dream.

  35. I appreciate my last post was moved because the beta version I am on still has the issue despite resetting the counter to -0-. However, perhaps at least mentioning the issue with the beta here is appropriate in case someone does a random search, makes the change, and cannot figure out why the counts are still double? Without this disclosure, they may end up thinking they did the clearing process incorrectly. I defer to your final judgement.

  38. Just to chip in as well. Had to double check several times to confirm that emby doesn’t have such a basic feature-especially these days when every streaming service (I know emby is not streaming service per se) tries to personalise playlist for each user. Seeing content i’m not interested in is really annoying under new media. Sorting based on folders is not feasible if you have more than couple of users with changing preferences, and you are layzy admin who does not wish to track every users inividual taste. Would be much smarter to let users themselves decide. “Not interested” button per-user would be really appreciated.

  39. Is there plans on the roadmap for OpenID. I have searched but not found any indication this is in development. With many admins taking up SSO through Authelia or Authentik to enhance security it would be great for Emby to support it. One of the easier open standards is OpenID which the aforementioned support. Users could continue to use LDAP if they wish while others can use the arguably better SSO experience.

  40. I have a 16:10 tablet, and I simply want it to always use "Cover" aspect ratio mode for all video content. I don't want this default setting to apply to any other devices. For example, an interaction flow like: Tap the "Gear" icon in the upper-right in-app Tap "App Settings" in the pop up menu Tap "Playback" Scroll Down to "Advanced" Select 1 of the 3 existing options from a drop down menu titled e.g. "Default Aspect Ratio for This Local Device" It doesn't need to be a "smart" setting. e.g. It doesn't need to select the device aspect ratio mode based on the video content aspect ratio. I want both 4:3 and 16:9 content to be in "Cover" mode on this device. I searched the forum for duplicates, but previous requests on this subject are asking for more complex User-wide, Server-wide, Library-wide, Series-wide Smart Settings which are reactive to the content being played. This request is simply for a local device default toggle, with no impact on the Server itself, and no additional logic.

  41. I like listening to my music through my roku/emby setup. However, I don't need to know how the artist is while listening. I was wondering if there is some way to set up a virtualization like on windows media player? I can wait and my roku will go to it's screen saver, but I would like to make a choice. Or even display the lyrics on screen, all of my music files have the lyrics embedded.

  42. Can you make a persistent setting by show/movie? I.E. I set it to stretch and it sticks for all viewings of that item going forward? It sucks having to re-set it every time we exit the app and come back. Even better if it could be set per user as well.
