Thanks for the feedback and kind words. A sorting option is something I’ve personally felt the need for, so that’s something I’m currently working on. I’m still home sick, so maybe I can even get it done today. Your other ideas are all great, but I don’t want to promise too much. I can currently find some time to work on this plugin, but I’m expecting both another child and a new job soon, so time will likely be limited going forward. I feel like I’ve accomplished what I initially set out to do with this plugin — create an easy tool to maintain a living and dynamic home screen with the latest server (beta) release. Some of your suggestions can already be accomplished manually by editing a collection’s metadata. I did consider adding an option to set a custom cover and description, but I’ve put that idea on hold since it’s fairly easy to do manually. Regarding list previews, couldn’t you just preview them directly in MDBList in the browser? As for Radarr/Sonarr, I don’t use them myself, so that’s something I would need to look into. I do want to add support for more sources beyond just Trakt and MDBList. To summarize, I will continue developing the plugin and add some new features, but not at the same pace as over the past few weeks. I truly appreciate all the feedback and ideas, even if not everything ends up being implemented.2 points

Major release - Version 2.0.0.0. Download .dll here: https://github.com/soderlund91/AutoTag/releases/tag/v2.0.0.0 Been home sick today and got time to work on creating collections with this plugin. Since this is a major feature, I'm releasing v2.0! New Features Collection managemet Automated Collection Management: The plugin can now automatically create and maintain Emby Collections directly from your lists. Smart Cleanup: Collections that are disabled, removed from configuration, or whose schedule has expired are automatically deleted. Fail-Safe Security: Introduced a safety lock that prevents the deletion of collections/tags if external API calls (Trakt/MDBList) fail. Only Collection Mode: A mode that allows you to build collections without applying tags to individual movies/series. Real-time UI: The interface now updates instantly with visual "badges" (icons) for active schedules and collections. Backup & Restore: Easily export and import your entire configuration via JSON files. Improvements & Fixes UI: Settings are organized into tabs (Source, Schedule, Collection, Advanced) for better navigation. The interface now also updates instantly with visual "badges" (icons) for active schedules and collections. Some other smaller UI fixes. Performance: Now calculates the difference (diff) for tags and collections, only performing necessary database updates to improve speed and reduce server load. Before all tags where removed and re-written. This saves a lot of I/O. Logging: Redesigned log output providing a clear summary in standard mode and detailed diff info in extended log mode.2 points

I posted about this issue in the Emby Server Beta thread. I think it has been resolved with 4.10.0.3. But I just saw the same behavior using the Windows app.1 point

You really haven't implemented this since 2018? What are we all paying for every month?1 point

That's true as well. But you don't know at that moment which port you can use. And while you found out while you are at a location, you can't adjust it cause you can't log in.1 point

I’ve successfully implemented a secure authentication flow using the Emby LDAP plugin and Authentik. My environment runs on Linux Debian 12/13. (Please note: this guide is Linux-specific; I cannot provide support for Windows environments). The setup relies on a hardened network structure and precise LDAP mapping. Key takeaways: Emby Configuration: Install the LDAP-plugin from the Emby Catalog (must have a premier license). Set the User Search Filter to (sAMAccountName={0}) and ensure the Bind DN matches your Authentik admin user exactly. Network & Firewall: Authentik resides in a DMZ, while Emby is in the LAN. A firewall rule (e.g., in OPNsense/pfsense) must allow traffic on port 389 from Emby to Authentik. LDAP Outpost: The Embedded Outpost must be active and linked to the Emby application in Authentik. 2FA Implementation: Authentik handles MFA over LDAP via the "password semicolon" method. Users enter credentials in Emby as password;123456. NTP Sync: Precise time synchronization across all devices is mandatory for TOTP tokens to validate. Security (GeoIP): In my firewall, I’ve implemented GeoIP filtering to only allow traffic from my own country to my Nginx server, significantly reducing the attack surface. Jellyseerr Integration: By using Emby as the authentication provider for Jellyseerr, users are automatically required to use their 2FA tokens there as well, simplifying the workflow. I hope this contributes to a solution for those seeking 2FA for Emby. A step-by-step guide (documented with AI assistance) here: Emby LDAP Authentication with 2FA using Authentik1 point

Thank you for your quick response. The plugin is already very effective; these were just a few ideas I had Congratulations on your future new baby and job, and all my best wishes for a speedy recovery.1 point

I didn't think of this, but in my use case, you're right. I'm using a 5th gen iPad with OS version 16.7, which Emby always worked on until that update. Got the new 2.2.50 version and all back to normal now. Thanks1 point

Thanks for doing what you have, that works well for me we've been testing it and love it. Unraid is awesome at some things, not surprised its not awesome at others. Truly appreciate it to have this available thank you!1 point

Well, hell, if this can't be fixed, I'll revert to the Android TV version. Seemed to be mostly OK there. "to do list for review" doesn't sound encouraging, and even less so 4 months later.1 point

If my research is correct, you just have to add my repository: https://github.com/Oratorian/emby-watchparty/ as a unRaid repo, it should find it. If not try to add : https://github.com/Oratorian/emby-watchparty/tree/main/unraid1 point

Thanks, Luke. I confirmed this by changing the AAC Stereo track to "Undefined", setting up the web player as English Preferred, and Don't pick default. It picked the DTS stream. I then changed the settings to "pick default", and it picked the AAC Stereo track.1 point

New release - Version 2.1.0.0. Download .dll here: https://github.com/soderlund91/AutoTag/releases/tag/v2.1.0.0 New Features Tag Sorting: Added options to sort tags by Manual, Name, Status, and Latest Edited. Smart Save Button: The save button now detects changes and only activates when settings are modified. Dry Run Warning: Added a clear warning banner when Dry Run is enabled to prevent accidental runs. Note If you don't see the changes after updating, please refresh your page and clear the browser cache.1 point

I don't really understand what changed but it was able to work on a Roku TV that previously has never had emby installed and is outside my home network1 point
-
It worked OK on a library with multiple episodes, thanks.1 point

Agree. Would love to see an ability to sort them by the current series first for all missing in current then by remaining, else be able to only show missing episodes for current seasons only. I use the complete list all the time, but once you have show like south park or the graham norton show, its endless pages of scrolling just looking for the change in show poster graphic I have 1000+ entries from shows in there from previous seasons i am not interested in seeing.1 point

Hi, there currently isn't an option but I expect that we will be adding one. Thanks.1 point

HI, we have submitted an update to resolve this. We are just waiting for it to go through Apple review. Thanks.1 point

Hi there, please try removing these plugins: ARD Mediathek 4.7.0.51 VirtualTV 2.1.7.0 VuPlus 3.2.9.0 ZDF Mediathek 4.8.0.20 Then restart the server and let us know how things compare. Thanks !1 point

Yes let me confirm I can still reproduce this after the latest app & server updates and I will PM it to you1 point

@LukeI have been monitoring the frame drop issue related to enabled subtitles over the last few updates. I can now confirm that the bug has been resolved. Thanks1 point

I will definitely be moving to the beta channel the instant this fix is out to test thoroughly.1 point

It was really more of a design decision but not having them does help keep us from getting randomly DMCA'd1 point

I tested a little bit with Beta 4.10.0.2-724100002. There it is better as it doesn't happen everytime now.1 point

It can be a bit tricky , I made a simple guide for it. When you are in the plugin-settings page, you have a small "Help" at the top. There you have links to get the API. In the redirect uri you can type anything you like. I use http://localhost Edit: FYI you dont need a API key to use public list from MDBList, it will work perfectly without1 point

I didn't build it against ARM and have been tied up with work. I will work on this at some point.1 point

.ass subtitles require an OBSCENE amount of power to render properly. Zero boxes can handle them when they start to get fancy. And by zero I mean not even the almighty Apple TV can even handle rendering .ass subs, specially if they are styled like so many anime fansub groups love to do to them. If you want them to be rendered properly, you are going to have to either burn them in server side, or switch to watching on a computer. This is not something the Emby dev team can fix, specially on the potato devices that are used for streaming. And I hate to say it, but the chipset in your box is ancient (almost 7 years old), and massively underpowered for the task you are "demanding" it perform for you. An Intel N100 system will wipe the floor with it completely and will handle .ass subs without breaking a sweat. With the current updates to Windows 11, it should also playback HDR and DV content IF your tv set supports it. I know this is not what you want to read, but that is the sad reality of things. Upgrade your hardware or change your viewing habits.1 point

In my experience you need to be lucky with who sees your post. I've had people be very helpfull as in pointing me to the right guides, even if those guides aren't up to date, i could figure it out still. And i've had the snobbish Linux replies where they basically consider you a total idiot for not knowing everything they know. And some in between, i've used Truenas since it's Freenas days back on FreeBSD. It really depends who sees your post like i said. I'll post that on the forum then @Lukeso they know that this is how it will be for the forseeable future.1 point

Please do ! New Emby user and just noticed the channel tag filter missing on the guide for Apple TV. I assumed it would be there like the iOS and Web clients I've been using. So necessary when there are lots of channels, especially on a TV app. Really loving Emby though.1 point

Hey @Lukethanks for your reply. This will open up Emby to many systems. Let me know if I should formally request this in any way.1 point

Thanks. Despite having a Synology for a long time I would say I dont know or like the interface all that much, even though its just a gui. Lots of capabilities that I dont really use or need, so moving the "brain". part of Emby over to a Mac Mini could be a great fit.1 point

The best OS to run Emby on is the one which you are most competent to manage. Facilities and performance are consistent across platforms, I believe, given comparable hardware. I believe that historically Windows was the initial and main platform, but I think the devs would not wish to emphasise that now. Most opinions strongly suggesting one specific platform are probably biased rather than considered. Paul1 point

+1 for ability to globally set a default sort order. In my use case for my music library, I would like the default sorting to be by release date, instead of title. Is there a way to do this now by editing a specific js file, just as a temp workaround until full implementation?1 point

Hello everyone, I have been experiencing the same issue on a freshly set up server, which was odd. But I have noticed that all the connections were DLNA, so I have disabled all the DLNA settings and then restarted the server. After this, I was able to run the transcoding tests. Maybe this also fixes your issue?1 point

Is there plans on the roadmap for OpenID. I have searched but not found any indication this is in development. With many admins taking up SSO through Authelia or Authentik to enhance security it would be great for Emby to support it. One of the easier open standards is OpenID which the aforementioned support. Users could continue to use LDAP if they wish while others can use the arguably better SSO experience.1 point

Are you creating the Collections or is Emby? Have you verified the Collection Library setup settings?1 point

I had the same issue yesterday. I had the Resume button, but when I pressed it, the movie started from the begining.0 points
