Reading about what others have done with density settings for other project i think i have found some things that might improve it quite a bit. Will "borrow" from them or maybe try and implement some similar things.

@DarWunI added density detection as discussed. Sadly the detection method is hit and miss. It find a lot of false positives as any text is counted to the detection number. @Neminemgave me a good example where a phonebook in the video got detected as end credits with the option. I can maybe fine tune but for now it is at least there as an option.

There were two types of duplicates I was dealing with: Two files of the same movie. Emby identifies one movie as another. To solve this, I decided to create a simple web project that works in any environment. All you need to do is provide your Emby server URL and API key—no need to dive into complex setups or configurations. The tool will scan your libraries for duplicates, and if any are found, it allows you to download a list showing the movie names and their file paths organized by the library. Currently, I'm running Emby WMC ui on a Windows 11 i7 NUC on a what older Sony Bravia tv. Buying a new tv is an option, but choosing which platform (Tizen (Samsung) of WebOS (LG) is difficult for me, as I would like to run Emby WMC on that platform instead of on a seperate NUC-Win11 system. Could you please advise which platform is running Emby WMC the best/fastest/flex on ?, or should I stay with Win11 (on a i7-NUC) as platform ? Thanks & best regards, Peter

J'ai la version 4.9.1.9, je suis sous windows 10 Emby teatre se lance, j'ai d’abord une page blanche puis elle devient noir après quelques secondes Aucun jaquette apparait. Dans mon tableau de bord ça m'indique en cours d’exécution sur le port avec son numéro Après une dizaine de tentative, hier soir emby première a fonctionné mais impossible de mettre a jour ma médiathèque et lorsque je sélectionne le film il met beaucoup plus longtemps que la norma a se lancer ( plus d'une minute ) Merci d'avance pour votre aide

Hi, On the AlbumArtist/Artist/Composer detail pages it is currently possible to add a single year to the metadata (e.g. 1960). I can’t really think of any good use for a single year for an Artist, so don’t use it. BUT the positioning of the field is perfect to potentially show other useful Artist summary/overview information, e.g.: Artist Type (as defined by MusicBrainz) Born and Died dates (for person) Formed and Disbanded dates (for group) Artist Country (and/or specific location) Discography Timeline (full, or based on library contents) Number of Albums (no need to go to Albums detail page to see) Record Labels (there isn't any field for this now) Anything really, that anyone may want? (as a short text string) My current personal preference would be Discography Timeline based on library contents (e.g. 1963-2025 Discography). I’m not asking/expecting anything to be automatically generated – just being able to manually add the required metadata would be sufficiently useful and very flexible. The big advantage of having a custom text field instead of a fixed numeric field, is that everyone could then set this up for their own preference. Would this be useful for anyone else? What would you use it for? Let me know if anything needs explaining further. Thanks for considering.

Don't worry. If it helps the plugin i'm always ready to look into things. I might actually have found some improvements that work. They will be in the next version along with a fix for the chapter order (already done with that).

Another scenario where density detection would probably fail is where there are end title cards on an episode where there is expository text pre-end credits to wrap things up (Quantum leap finale comes to mind). I'll install the new version and do some testing. I ran across another "quirk" when end credits are being set on an episode that has existing chapter markers. The end credit location was detected properly, and the end-credit flag has been set. But it is set after the final chapter instead of being inserted in between the chapters where it belongs from a time perspective. I don't know if this actually matters as I haven't watched the episode yet to see if the credit skip option is still presented at the right time. But I thought I'd point it out. Again, thanks for your work on this plug-in!

Apologies for the issue. Same problem as the thread above. We have a solution it just isn't implemented yet. We are working on it.

I got rid of the long pauses, but now I got short pauses. I just gave up watching the football game. About everyone to 2 minutes it's a 5 to 15 second pause. In this time emby is unresponsive and 5% CPU used. I can't find any drive sticking nothing is at 100% everything is barely being used. I'm ready to try the beta at this point. If you think that'll help tell me the, I don't want to do it and possibly get stuck on beta. I guess I can save my current setup before switching. I'm almost ready to pull an old Shadow copy of my hard drive from when it was working right. I will be grabbing the log file after midnight

If we could please get a few more likes for this feature, we'd all appreciate it. My viewers would like to hide shows they are not interested in to make it easier for them to choose their next binge.

Yes, the option was first implemented in that app so it is a local preference at this point but I had thought we were keeping that option as a local device/app-specific setting. All the others are sharing one setting? I did just change the default to ON.

I hope you all had a good holiday! I did some testing with other apps on my phone casting to my Chromecast most notably the PBS app. What's interesting is I have not encountered a single skip or lag after many hours. I'm wondering if that's because PBS doesn't need to do any transcoding since they control the source file format or do work upfront? Is it possible for to configure Emby to something like that? I have seen this happen in both Firefox and Chromium on Linux. It seems to be more prevalent if the pause is longer than a few seconds. When I pause to listen to someone talking to me, it rarely happens but if I pause to get a snack or for a bathroom break (for example), it is almost 100% certain I will get out of sync. If it helps, it is usually not right off the bat after resuming but you can see a skip backwards a few seconds later and this is where the vid goes back and while the audio and subtitles seem to remain on track

I would also like to see last played in the movie/episode detail view. It's where i would find it the most useful/wanted. I don't often want to know, but when i do i really do seems like it could easily be tucked down here on the webapp without adding to much clutter or changing the ui much? "Added 2025/12/8 1:32, Last Played 2025/12/13 14:14" unrelated, is there any way to change the format of date there to something else? mainly YYYY-MM-DD

Found the problem, i compiled it as a debug version and not release version so all the debug messages are shown. Should be working now without the messages. Edit: To anyone reading this, i'm am not the developer or maintainer of this plugin. I just ran it through an AI to fix it, nothing more. SmartPlaylist.dll

After nearly 9 years, emby still does not support databases such as MySQL

The issue is the device capability is being got from the playback device - not the display device. This is yet another reason why I'd like the 'devices' to be fully configurable with capabilities that overwrite 'auto' settings - as then you could set it to 'force SDR' for example - as you know it is connected to an SDR only TV. Emby tries to be smart - but in somes cases, it's way off because it does not have all the information to make a calculated decision.
