  1. As Neminem said i have placed instructions in the plugin. That said, maybe i should make a guide for it with pictures. I know how hard it can be to install something new like for example Docker, it can be a pain.

  2. Sorry about coming of cross, but in the plugin there is this section with links and description.

  4. I'm debating with my self if i should add so that it can use native installed tesseract for Windows. While i understand Docker might not be for every one i still feel it's the best solution and added the ability to use native would add another thing for me to maintain if they change anything.

  6. Tired of seeing end credits before Emby loads the next episode of your favorite TV show? Now you can remove that iritation! EmbyCredits detects those end credits and add a marker for Emby to use so end credits can be skipped. https://github.com/yocksers/EmbyCredits This is either by done chroma fingerprinting and comparing the episodes or by the plugin extracting png/jpg images of the TV show, sending them to a tesseract docker container, the tesseract finds a match and reports that back to the plugin that then adds the skip to Embys database. Emby then shows a "Keep Watching | Next Episode" when it sees the marker. Requirements: yock1/embycreditocr installed if OCR detection is wanted (recommended method). In the plugin you add the Tesseract server IP: IMPORTANT!!!!! As the plugin extracts a lot of images it needs a custom folder to do this as to not fill up Emby docker disk images so set this setting: Then add some keywords to search for (i have added a few but for more precise detection you should add some more that are fitting to your library). Choose a library or a single episode and press process. The plugin can also be set to run as a scheduled task or auto detection for when new shows or episodes have been added to Emby. Speciel thanks to friends who helped developing and @Neminemfor help with testing! If you like this plugin then please consider donating at https://buymeacoffee.com/yockser so i can sit back and relax once in a while with a nice coffee. Disclaimer: Use at your own risk! The plugin has been tested and re-tested but bugs are devious little things that can creep in unnoticed. Do with the plugin what ever you want, change the code, call it your own creation or even take money for it.. I don't care. The original will be here for free!

  7. Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless

  8. Its been made clear that the ATV Emby app is no longer being developed. I don't really like this for the obvious reason - it feels like running a phone app on my tv. All the elements, navigation, dialog boxes, the whole UX flow is not designed for a device with a remote. I understand the devs have made the decision and that dev resources are finite. What is the plan? If the ATV app is not getting updates, in multipe topics the advice is to try the Android app instead. Why is it still in the store and the default app installed? 99% of people will not visit forums or even know there's an alternative. Is the final plan going to be to use the current Android app everywhere? My ideal solution - I'd prefer to have a unified app with a UX written in html that is responsive and can adapt to screen res and device capabilities (eg touch, remote etc). For all I know this may be the plan. And please give an estimated timeline. Thank you.

  9. As I'm transitioning from Volumio and Plex to Emby to centralize my usage to one app, the one thing I'm missing the most is gapless playback. This is particulary annoying when listening to albums like "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. I'm experiencing a buffer of about 1 second in between songs, which really ruins the immersion. Would be awesome if this would be implemented in both the Chromecast, and web player.

  11. Hey, Just a quick question of VVC Codec (H.266) to see if this will be support by emby once they have released it fully to the public. VVC was released at the end of 2020 for testing on OTT companies etc and hopefully should be releasing it to the public domain fairly soon. of course there soon may be 2 years but would just like to ask if its something that is possible. EDIT : If you would also like to have this improvement/feature please give a like on this post so that the devs can see how much/little demand it currently has Thanks guys

  13. Not stupid at all. Will admit i wondered the same thing but it was made from the request and idea from another person so there is a use for it for some and i'm happy to help out. You can save the NFO and Artwork in custom folders and collections are supported. Other than that, not really. If you have any suggestions that could make it useful for you then you are more than welcome to report them here and i will look into them.

  14. I don't understand why this change is so trivial to the Emby team. Over a dozen users across multiple forum posts have agreed that this is a problem. This is just straight up bad user experience. Every user on my server that reports this behavior describes it as a "bug" because it doesn't make sense. I understand the timeout for playback controls, but for the timeout to exist on screens that the user needs to stay on for an unknown amount of time to READ makes ZERO sense. I have yet to hear a single good argument from the Emby team as to why this makes sense from a UX perspectives. Why does the Windows app let you choose when to minimize when the other platforms don't? Don't say anything about mobile vs desktop experience, that's irrelevant here. @Luke @ebr

  15. If you place a reverse proxy in-front of Emby, it can be set to drop all traffic except those that use the correct domain name. In nginx, that would look something like: ssl_certificate /your/cert.pem ssl_certificate_key /your/cert.key server { listen ssl 443; default_server; return 444; #444 = drop connection with no response } server { listen ssl 443; server_name yourdomain.example; #only respond to this name proxy_pass localhost:8096; } And because this listens to port 443, you will no longer need to specify a port when connecting, just type the domain name. You will however have to forward port 443 instead of 8096, and tell apps like Emby For Android to use 443.

  16. I have been an Emby fan for at least 10 years. Prior to finding Emby, I used Plex and Kodi but found them too cumbersome. I do build my own PCs, but I am not a programming wizard. My Emby server is the hub and provides about 80% of our viewing entertainment. (OTA TV/10% and Prime/10%). Network - Router Asus GT-AXE16000 > 4 x Asus Mesh Nodes all using 2.5Gbe wired connections Server - Windows 11/Core i5-11600k/32GB Ram/Nvidia RTX 3050/Windows Storage Spaces 4 x 14TB HDD/2.5 Gbe Realtek card Clients - Long list..... Office PC - Windows 11/ Ryzen 5600XT/32GB Ram/Nvidia RTX 3050/2.5 Gbe Realtek card Living Room - 75" Roku (Roku) TV>Denon X3800 AVR OR XBox Series X (mainly used as a disc player but the grandkids play games too, but I have Emby on it) Theater - Roku Ultra standalone box "OR" HTPC>Denon X4800 AVR>Epson LS-12000 4k Projector. The HTPC has a 7600XT CPU/RTX4070/2.5Gbe Network, but I find the Roku Ultra does a great job even with HDR material. Bedroom - 65" TCL (Roku) TV (Wireless) Guest/Grandkids bedroom - 55" Westinghouse (Roku) TV Emby does everything I need it to do. My wife sorts (makes Collections) of movies just for the Grandkids. I love how easy it is to check to see if I am missing any TV episodes. The weak links in my entier setup are the Microsoft Storage Spaces (I have run this for 15 years with 1 failure), playing Dolby Vision content can be hit or miss on the tone mapping (mostly great, but occasionally off). Really can't think of anything else. I realize I am using only the core features of Emby. I could probably really dig into it to make things really great (I never got "Theater Intros" to work, but kinda gave up anyway), but I am a boomer, and the core functions are straightforward and easy. I actually jumped on the forum because I was entertaining the idea of a NAS (to replace the Windows Storage Spaces PC) and was seeing if there was UGreen support. Saw this thread and thought I would share my wonderful experience with Emby for the last 10 years. And, no, I am not thinking about switching to something else, ever!

  17. It was not meant to be rude, nor to suggest that Neminem is rude. But statements like that can come across as implying that others aren’t quite competent just because they ask for help. I completely agree that you shouldn’t build anything extra into the plugin. However, it would be helpful to provide information, or point to where one can find information, on how to install the additional components that are needed.

  18. I agree! I tend to give users every setting under the sun but it can confuse people as well. I don't blame any one at all, my vision of how it should work might not fit in with others! Would love to have the nuget working so it could all be self contained in the plugin though, that would cause it to be less reliant on a docker container that's already very old and be much more user friendly click and forget.

  19. "Season01" is not documented as supported - I always use "Season1"; but for all I know that might not be an issue. Putting Movies or OVAs into subfolders of an series is normal, and they should be numbered as specials (e.g. s00e01) and placed in Specials folder (or another name) - if they logically fall within the series, then the metadata should contain the position at which they will be inserted in the seasons (if TVDB doesn't do that for you, add the data manually). Do not mark the library as mixed content unless you have separate movies in their own folders at the same level as series, and have understood the stricter requirements for naming in such libraries. As I explained before, Emby will often merge different types of specials folders... I have some of the same series as you, and they just work™. Ensure that your files are consistently numbered following the chosen scheme from the first metadata provider in your list. Multiple versions of the same season won't work - either put them together so that you have alternate versions for each episode, or make two folders for the whole series with the alternate versions in one of them (and ensure that Emby is not set to combine multiple folders). My advice would be to follow the Emby TV naming guidelines precisely, and only experiment with varying them once that's working for you. Paul

  20. @yockerYou would not want do this..... If you help people to much with external resourced ( Docker images ) or repacking into the plugin, then they rely on you to fix that too. And you would be F"#¤ if source became abandoned or infected with malware. It would now be on you, cause people will point at you. So please consider NOT doing this TBH If people does not know or understand. It's simply beyond there reach to use the tool

  21. You need to download and install docker for desktop. Should be able to find it in the microsoft store. Next part is hard to explain and maybe you can find a youtube video. But basically in the top there is a search, search for the tesseract container and make a pull. When downloaded you start it in containers. Docker can be a bit "scary" the first time but give it 30 min and you will find it's actually somewhat easy and user friendly

  23. Also, been working all night on this (don't feel bad for me! ) and have improved the detection so it streams the images instead of extracting them all at the same time. That will improve the speed of the plugin a lot. @gibmanI also changed some more paths and removed some reliance on series ID. While it was not meant to fix any problems it might actually fix the one you are having. So if you can try this version that would be great. EmbyCredits.dll

  29. This is just a fully working version of the Person Provider. (I think - LOL , at least until I find some bugs!) Requres latest stable 4.7.9 As Always with my plugins, I accept no resposibility for anything..... its up to you if you try it. Basically what it is, it lets you use your own json server to serve metadata for people directly into Emby as a metadata fetcher (with images) People fetchers dont need turning on in library settings, they are already on by default. So apart from the server string and mappings, there no more config. *This plugin does not cover musicartists* Anyway anyone who wants to have a play can, let me know in the comment whether I should make this cover everything else so you can have your own Metadata servers So far its only People The config page lets you MAP your JSON to work with EMBY, so your JSON Element Names can be whatever you like,,you map them here. The path to the image has 3 settings, it allows for a full url, a partial url and a base url path or a filename and a base url path Edit Images (Magnifying glass search) Identify (Looking for a Lee !) I have included the config file to my test server so you can at least try it. My test server is all asian people (some do not have images as you will no doubt find) so if you look for anyone else you wont find them! you can try the web view here http://media-and-meta.ddns.net/metaserver/DBQueries/Find&Editperson.php Any way if you try it let me know your findings - thanks And Thanks to @TallBoiDezfor the inspiration to do this... CreateMovieApi.zip MyPersonApiProvider.zip CreatePersonApi.zip Added an Alpha version of MyMovieApiProvider. You will have to test this and let me know if its fully working or not. It seems to for me, leaving all the remap boxes blank because I used the CreateMovieApi. Enable in your library settings Included in the zip is some updated php files for the create movie api (adapted from another project) Ignore the usb path - just testing identify with a movie name MyMovieApiProvider-Alpha(25-03-2024) - build 2.zip

  39. Hi, Since I am using more and more TMDb, (since tvdb is more and more a mess), I am missing a very important feature. tvdb had the feature of grouping stuff into aired, DVD and absolute, which is supported by emby. TMDb had also this feature. See this example for "La casa de papel" (Money Heist, Haus des Geldes): The Original Order is allways the "aired order" of the original country. "La casa de papel" was originaly released by "Antena 3" and was taken over by Netflix, which results in different episodes ordering, which is a mess. They solved it in episode grouping. This feature is missing from emby, but it's integrated in their API and is allready supported in other apps, like kodi. At least, Banana a TMDb Mod claims it, that it's supported by Kodi: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/71446-la-casa-de-papel/discuss/5e7032d84f9a99001152704f?page=1#5eb76872ca7ec6001f7c53cb Is it possible to add this feature into emby? It is the last scraping feature, I really really miss for TMDb on emby. It adds much flexibility and is overall a much better solution, than on tvdb with their aired, dvd and absolute order. Another great example is Dragonball Super: As you see, it adds much more flexibility for different regions over the world. It's in my own eyes a must have for emby!

  43. I recently have been fired from my job so I decided to play with software to perhaps fill the void. My last job of 7 years I was a coder and occasional hacker for the gov and now looking to pair up with a company to perhaps take my stress away and benefit a community looking for something I maybe able to help with. I have been working on a Jellyfin client app with skins included as it is opensource for most common hardware like fire devices android based. Currently I have skins for the following, Netflix, Hulu & Sky UK. So far my Jellyfin app is the exact replica for the three providers I made my skins exactly the same with zero difference. My goal here would be a monthly fee to use my services $5 per month as well comes with a new live tv section that will not ever freeze while watching when I'm done. This will only work on a pc install on 64 bit devices that have 6 gigs of ram and up. Each install for the live tv will turn any 64 bit pc into an Emby app booting directly into Emby with NOTHING ELSE available. (Emby OS) Full Bluetooth with any remote including FireTV remotes.

  44. To me, if something is visible on the OSD other than the on-screen controls, that's where focus is. I would note expect to have to navigate down into the overview in order to make it stay on-screen—in fact, it's never even occurred to me that it would be possible to do so.

  46. It would be great to have an option to rewatch tv series. Some times it's hard to tell what was the last episode watched if the entire show has been marked as watched. It occurs to me that this can be done with a counter that can differentiate if the numbers of plays is odd or pair showing a different color marker on each episode accordingly, so if the entire show has been watched again all episode should have the same color.
