Not directly Emby related per-say. but I have 20 free copies of this app to give away on the Microsoft Store. Can be handy if you do a lot of encoding and have the resources available. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=532540&mstoken=TXQ26-74WWC-2WY79-2HRX3-J79JZ Free to the first 20 users: TXQ26-74WWC-2WY79-2HRX3-J79JZ Hope that doesn't seem like Ad.. but the developer game me free copies when I reach out so thought I would share.2 points

You're also assuming you're the only user on your server. Something you might not like, another user might so removing it entirely is not a solution.2 points

Please make it possible to create the backup as compressed archive, like *.tgz or *.zip. This makes is much easier to copy the backup to other places, without the need to copy hundred of files.1 point

searching for "war" takes a long time searching for "wargames" or "warcraft" is almost instant for me as it pulls up a few videos or tv shows with that information. It seems the server is trying very hard to display everything at once before displaying it rather than just displaying it as it finds it (like windows search). And while its looking the server becomes sluggish and unresponsive even though its only use 10% cpu1 point

I agree but that is a small portion compared to the 18gigs of images that are also being backed up, and yes I know I can technically turn that off but then there are no chapters or cached images of actors, and if you are recovering from a backup that's all the stuff that would be nice to have so you don't have to re-scrape and spend 30 hours rebuilding the library. what if the chapters were kept in the series folders vs the Emby library folder, it wouldn't reduce the quantity in general but it would reduce the backup substantially which is the real issue, not sure just trying to think outside the box for alternatives. That doesn't work for the people data though because then you would have so many copies for the same person. I know images can be stored in a DB itself although that is a far more complicated endeavor but you could have a db for each Title so instead of a dozen chapter images you would have 1 DB file which could reduce the quantity substantially. As I said I don't know there is a solution to this issue, let a lone a simple one I am just more or less thinking out loud at this point.1 point

Which part are you asking about? Yes. Yes, remote does not bring up the keyboard on screen. Seeing the same as here. Even with https enabled via reverse proxy, it does not show the on screen keyboard. And how would it know if use http or https if I can't type in the dns / IP address?1 point

Honestly at this point I have no idea how to narrow this down. A loading screen doesn't seem to be much help. 2025-12-15 12-42-32.mkv1 point

In the case of searching for WAR, both the initial search and subsequent searches all take me 4-6 minutes to return results. I've attached a log file immediately following this test. embyserver.txt1 point

Don't know what caused this issue, but I fixed it by completely uninstalling Emby and reinstalling.1 point

We don't deliberately remember deleted items at this point. We just don't delete the user data right away because you may just be relocating an item which, to the system, is a delete and add operation and we don't want to lose your playstate and fav status, etc. when this happens.1 point

I have been using Plex for 6 years now and have even bought a lifetime Plex Pass for the Watch Together feature. I would switch to Emby if the tv app had the watch party feature1 point

Does this happen only on the first query or even if you do multiple searches one after the other? Can you provide logs for this? I have a 7 GB DB file and searching for either of those returns results in <250 ms on average. The DB is on NVMe but that should affect only the first query, any subsequent tries should be served from the DB cache in memory.1 point

The unattended sleep timeout was 8 minutes. I changed it to 15. Will let you know if it makes a difference.1 point

Hi, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Rookie error in naming the Folders, I had confused Emby by naming the Season 2 folder Season 3 and the Season 3 folder Season 2, when looking at the folder structure you asked for this became painfully evident, I've since renamed them and the issued resolved, apologies for wasting your time Before : Reason Now :1 point

There are a couple of aspects to this that need to be looked into 1. How we handle back to back recordings - We closed the live TV stream at 20:30 as the 20:00 episode completed at same time as the trigger fired for the 20:30 recording. I just need to double check that is normal 2. Both airings had the same episode title as the episode was in 2 parts - being S05 E01 and S05 E02 with same title "Italy" for both. I need to look into if the title plays a part in establishing if already in the library. The episodes are both named Italy but identified in the guide metadata as being in 2 parts and there are two different internal identifiers. These were the 2 fired timers 2025-12-10 20:00:00.014 Info LiveTV: Recording timer fired for 99af148f028fc756957a28c029709c01 Everybody Loves Raymond. 2025-12-10 20:30:00.008 Info LiveTV: Recording timer fired for 91c1cf038e78cb87c8da85ae292dfcaa Everybody Loves Raymond. I've also had multiple users report that even single word searches (Like WAR or Leon) also results in seemingly endless spinning, even when put inside quotes. Seems like the users reporting that this isn't a problem for them are either running on ssd raids or have smaller database sizes.1 point

One is if you configure your series display to always show season folders, then on the series screen you'll see season folders instead of the episode list. That mainly just depends on whether or not you want to have the extra layer to click through.1 point

Tastes can change over time. Also you may have some songs you don't like but from a band you really like, so you still want to keep them.1 point

Could you share a few screenshots as I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding what is the issue there?1 point
-
It is probably the cumulative affect of it running multiple times. Ideally we wouldn't even let you setup a schedule for this in the first place, but we need a place for tasks that allows you to start, stop and monitor progress, and currently scheduled tasks is the only mechanism we have for that.1 point

That was it! Didn't even think to look there for some reason. Any idea why all of these got disabled in the last update?1 point
-
Likely because meta-downloader/image fetchers got disabled or stuck - re-enable or untick/tick again all of them in your Collections library.1 point
-
I create the collection and historically it would automatically understand and fetch the right images. This time it does not. When I go in and use the identify function, it still doesn't work. It says I can't find any matches1 point

btw this error is still in 2.2.9. As far as I've seen it's only with Actors. Other screens with the (...) the box, such as movie details, don't extend past the bottom of the screen.1 point

Hi, an option is being added for the next release to allow you to control this: Thanks.1 point

Is your issue specifically related to youtube trailers, or other movie playbacks as well? There is a more permanent fix for youtube trailers in the next release. If you have issues with regular movie playback, then we will need logs for the playback attempts to better understand the cause1 point

With the first code above. I'd forgotten all about this - seriously Emby, after 4 years this is not resolved ? Did you not learn anything from the previous security incident/breach where you ignored that one as well until it was exploited in the wild and then became a big issue for you ? All it's going to take is for somebody to 'exploit' this is to simply scan all emby servers, grab all the images from them and start exploiting the results - and maybe sue your company for gross negligence in the process... PLEASE take reported security incidents seriously - you are getting the Pen testing/analysis done for free - the least you can do is provide a fix in a timely manner. Also to note, you are a commercial organisation with paying customers - thus you have responsibilities to report these vulnerabilities, so people are aware and can make an informed choice. @Luke @ebr @softworkz1 point
