Yeah might not be needed to warn when changing container as that isn't really transcoding.2 points

I just purchased the premium version. I like it very much especially for the notifications! It remembers tautulli for Plex. Thank you so much much.2 points

You must be new, or don't come here often. The dev team has been ask for YEARS to give us option to customize more of the UI of emby and for the most part they go unheard. They have to vision of what emby should look like and we have to deal with it sadly. All we can do is keep asking, but from what I've seen over time is that for the most part we are wasting our time.2 points

Unless I'm being a bit blind (highly possible!), I'd love a way to hide a couple of the top green navigation items without hacking it in myself. For example, in Movies I don't want the 'Trailers' item to appear for any profile and for TV I don't need the 'Upcoming' nav link. Obviously not a major issue but thought it would be a nice thing to have, perhaps allowing them to be re-ordered like the home page items but again just a nice extra,1 point

I have found that the vast majority of apps I frequently use already support dark mode between iPhone/iPad/Mac and can match the system's automatic switching mode. So I hope Emby, as a software I often use, can support automatic switching between dark and light modes; If automatic switching mode is set, Dark/light mode will be used by default, and other modes will not be available. For users who wish to use automatic switching mode and single theme mode, they can each choose their favorite theme mode. The above content comes from translation software, I hope it can clearly express my suggestions.1 point

You will have to shutdown Emby and edit your system.xml to reenable it. Do not now this platform path but looks something like this Data path: /var/db/emby-server/config1 point

Thanks for joining Discord, we'll continue there so as not to fill up the thread!1 point

OT: Will assume the new db options (system.xml) may need tweaked on a per system basis. Beta updated <MaxLibraryDbConnections>20</MaxLibraryDbConnections> <MaxAuthDbConnections>5</MaxAuthDbConnections> <MaxOtherDbConnections>3</MaxOtherDbConnections> Stable updated <MaxLibraryDbConnections>5</MaxLibraryDbConnections> <MaxAuthDbConnections>5</MaxAuthDbConnections> <MaxOtherDbConnections>3</MaxOtherDbConnections> As I will guess this is another setting that will be completely different across all setups.1 point

No you don’t have to restart. You don’t have to copy the contents either although you can if you want.1 point

I saw that message when I connected from my Android box (with Onkyo receiver) and Sony tv (connected to the smart clock). However, I quickly checked in the activity section in the Emby app and nothing was there. I will post a screenshot next time. And also, it will be great to be able to set the notifications for each user. For example, I don't need to have the notification when I (admin) connect to the Emby server.1 point
-
Yes, I understand and I really appreciate your feedback. This allows us to constantly improve. The notifications received and displayed for new devices come from the Emby rest API, so normally if you receive this notification, it is because your devices have connected or opened a new session (without necessarily having made a connection request with login/password).1 point

Thankyou .this update has fixed the problem. btw the web client from chrome functioned as expected. thanks again for supplying a fix so promptly.1 point

its a mpeg 2 stream. and getting transcoded to h264. this is the issue its not transcoding to hevc. the latest server release is supposed to be using hevc on browser and some new android apps. this bug report is for mainly the browser as that was hevc supported1 point

All sorted now, cheers. I was doing it manually, and realised I'd way more .ignore files than I thought I had. So, in end, I used the Terminal in Unraid to automate it for me. find /mnt/user -type f -name ".ignore" -execdir sh -c 'rm -f "$1" && echo "*" > .embyignore' _ {} \; ^^ This scans all my SMB shares for any .ignore files, and replaces them with .embyignore files that contain the asterix character within. Simple and effective. A full library scan then resolved any remaining unignored files.1 point

I guess the first thing to test would be what does ffprobe see in the file as all embedded data will be read no matter any library settings. (you will see the ffprobe command line for the specific file when imported).1 point

I noticed somes improvements to do: 1. In active session it shows 720, but 1080 in Emby. The resolution is 1920x804, I suppose that Emby "understand " it as 1920 and this app as 720. Not sure who "lies" 2. In sessions history it takes a lot of time to charge and (maybe it's du le to the amount of media files). 3. I had a notification says "an unknown user connected..." but no user connected to the server. I will check when it will repeat. However, it's a good start. I like very much the notifications section. Please add the stop and pause/play button in active session. I see only the option to send a message. Thank you for this app.1 point

Honestly, that was what i have already guessed, but thanks for the confirmation. So you simply dont trust your community members, thats why even long lasting community members cant edit their posts.1 point

@LukeFYI I have now completely deleted all of my studio tags from all of my movie files and 'More Like This' is working so much better. I have no need for Studio tags so no real hardship with doing this my end but thought I would share this with you. Thanks1 point

EXACTLY THIS!!!!!!!!!! As someone here said seem to be the @Lukeshow. From deliberately ignoring feature request that are years old, to deliberately ignoring bug fix request (the broken search function), pushing what @Lukeinstead of looking at what the users want.1 point

I noticed a trending issue in regards to the "More like this"... Almost every single one of my elderly users seem to open a video, decide its not what they want (or they watch & complete the video) and rather than pressing BACK, they scroll down to the "More Like This" and start browsing emby from that side-scrolling "More Like This" bar. Next thing I know, they call me saying emby is only showing a hand-full of movies and there is nothing to watch.... Only for me to find out they haven't been pressing back and I have to tell them to keep pressing back up to like 2 dozen times until they get to the emby homescreen. Having the ability to just disable that would be VERY helpful for those users who just can't fully-understand how things work completely . Edit: also this option would NEED to be reflected in the apps as well, not just a web-only option.1 point

Thanks all! I agree—your approach makes sense and would really help my setup. Appreciate the quick responses and consideration.1 point

Hello! I upgraded to beta version 4.9.2.3 today, but unfortunately, the issue persists. I can only look forward to further optimizations.1 point
-
@LukeIt's been a while since we made this request. The 4.9 server version has been released, yet there have been no updates regarding our suggestions. We have not heard anything about potential changes, and we have been waiting patiently. From what I understand, the issue lies with small libraries. However, many of us only use this server for personal purposes, sharing it with friends and family, rather than for business or large libraries. I couldn't find a clear explanation for the delay. I consulted a developer friend about whether what we're asking is difficult to implement. He responded, "No, not at all. It shouldn't be. An option to hide it should be very simple." Are you truly willing to alienate premium users over such a trivial change?1 point
-
Non issue in the end - took 11m to complete - no visible issues in my media.1 point

@Luke Hi, I tried completely uninstalling emby from my iPhone and then reinstalling it from the App Store. After the reinstall it worked fine again.1 point

HI, can you please be more specific about what you'd like to see? Thanks !1 point
-
I assumed that was self-explanatory from the option title, hence was said: Edit: And if meta-providers disabled (or internet connection killed altogether) before Search for missing, it actually shouldn't (couldn't) download any new data, so net-result could very well be only existing data written.1 point

Just thought this should be an official FR… Since there already seems to be support (and dislike) for this, please make it customizable (perhaps by a plugin) so the admin can control it. There should also be an individual user setting to enable/disable it. I think it should support: Tags to select an icon. A Regex on the program name (i.e. “^NFL” or “ NFL “ …) to choose an icon. Maybe something else? This way: It could be much more than just sports. The Nay-Sayers could leave it off. It could be a little fun and slightly stupid (like some say about me). Ref:1 point

HI ,yes we can look at expanding on that information. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

Thank you, and Yes my Audiobooks have metadata from Audiobookshelf Sorry to say it, but in its current state Emby blows when it commes to Audiobooks. So right now I do the following to my Audiobooks. Import in abs have that write metadata to ab ( Metadata like you would songs/albums mp3 ) Then refresh metadata on books. But I do not see Musicbrainz used anywhere, when disabled.1 point
-
First off, thanks for trying to replicate!!! Thats very nice of you Secondly, kudos on the book choice. Clive Barker.... niiiice Thirdly, if no providers where is that info coming from? I am guessing from MP3 tags. This was an issue for me in testing the Google Books plugin because I thought it was turned off/disabled but it is not. So, what I did was just grab some MP3 sound files I used on my Twitch stream and named them 01-Chapter 1.mp3, etc. This eliminates MP3 tag info 100%. You screenshot confirms my first point tho. When no providers are selected, no data is fetched. However, when I ticked my Google Books: The GB provider does not work but I was not aware of that first because data was showing up in the library. I sent the plugin back to the dev to fix and after a bit of back and forth I noticed the "MusicBrainz" link in the bottom and mentioned it to him. He told me to look in the logs and low and behold, MusicBrainz was going to town. I asked him to be sure it was not the plugin doing it and he sent me a screenshot of his VSS with a search for the word brain and musicbrainz both returning none. So I made this thread here.1 point

I apologize. This is a difficult issue but we are working on it. Thanks.1 point

Bug report: No option to delete multiple downloaded items at once in Android client When I download a large number of files to my phone (for example 100 music tracks), after the download completes there is no option to select all of them at once and delete them from the device. The only way to remove them is to select and delete each single track individually. With dozens or even hundreds of files this becomes completely impractical. It would be very useful to have a “Select all / Delete all” option for downloaded items in the Android app.1 point

Hi @Daevidyes I agree we should add bulk functions here via multi-select. Thanks.1 point

So this is somehow my fault, even though this was reported in beta testing? Cool. And instead of taking that feedback, and maybe running a file structure check (or whatever gibberish makes sense in response to your jargon) that would alert the user that their database was about to be trashed and they might want to back up some things before making this seemingly routine but actually catastrophic update, you just decided that a few casualties were acceptable for progress? Cool.1 point

A "disruption" would be something that can easily be reverted. This isn't as bad as when you guys accidentally deleted peoples entire movie folders, but this certainly isn't a "Whoopsie guys, my bad, tee-hee" moment either.1 point

Bang up job there team, way to iron out the bugs after it was reported in the beta Guess I get to start from scratch....again......in 24 hours when this finally rebuilds1 point

No, I also don't need one Community appreciation is enough for me.1 point

Correct, but Amazon has a solution for existing Fire OS apps that they select and they have selected ours.1 point

+1 to this request, I have a separate library for my kids videos, and I dont want it recommending stuff from the regular TV Shows library1 point

Come on Luke, 2018 the original request, and maybe in forum comments before that. This is a feature probably everyone wants, even if they haven't seen this thread.1 point
