  1. I was a little blown away by the results I received from the simple prompts I gave. After a little bit of experimenting with a few different AIs and getting some poor results by giving it a long list of titles in a library and telling it to choose some of them, I saw mangled, cropped, and even misspelled text when the correct text was supplied. I ended up going with Copilot (Smart). Conversation: Result: Note: 640x460 was ignored (when I asked why, it gave a lame excuse), so I cropped and resized to suit (not shown here). Conversation: Result: Same note as above. It could probably use some more tweaking, but you get the idea. Tips for Linux users:

  4. @brothomyour comment made me think... So I tried turning off the hvec.. and boom Tesla is working again. I assume that the Tesla is reporting it can use hvec, but maybe not in the browser. All resolved

  5. Well, I am less interested in great detail in the metadata than in the show itself, I admit, so you may have a different view. But TVDB (the default for shows) is really pretty comprehensive for anime. I have, for two very rare anime, updated their database myself rather than looking for another - it's really quite easy. 6. Probably because PLEX is bloated and corporate - they might be able to afford the additional cost to offer that feature to their massive user base - if it actually is a feature reserved for a fee?

  7. @@Luke stated in a previous post (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/49933-replaygain-music-support/) adding support for this could easily be done for at least the theater client seeing as the player used already supports replaygain. I'm making this feature request in hopes that this support is added, as I have no dev experience myself

  8. Partly played content already is shown in the Continue watching section. So there's no need to have it twice on the screen both under latest media and continue watching. An option to hide partly played content from latest media would be great. Thanks.

  9. The text size option (that the legacy version has) hasn`t yet been implemented but its on the todo list for future updates. That said when in TV mode there is no slider bar on the side but pretty sure its there in desktop mode.

  13. Disregard. I found it. Somehow the "Allow Remote Access" got disabled, so the dashboard was not showing the VPN public IP address. Not sure how it got disabled, but all good now. Thanks for the follow-up.

  15. Hi Thanks for your help. It solved fullscreen and 1:1 pixelmapping. However I don't have the green button row. I have used the windows store to install the app. I found an install link in the blog news. I'm running version 2.234.2.0

  17. Just as a note I figured this micro stutter problem out this weekend. The problem existed while playing subtitles on almost all files on AndroidTV with the latest Emby app. I have a Homatics 4k box, and I was using Kodi to get around it since I posted this topic. I tried extracting to .srt and it didnt do anything, I had the same issue. I found out that disabling drop shadow on the subtitles in the Emby App on the device got rid of the problem fully. Hopefully the team can look into fixing that.

  19. So I noticed this for a long time and I'm sure your aware if I go to a movie that has no backdrop I can't set image from url unless there first is an image there already. What I do is just take a screenshot of the desktop then upload that image to the backdrop then change the backdrop from url and of course it works. I'm sure you will iron out the kinks so I won't have to keep uploading screenshots before each backdrop edit?

  20. Couldn't sleep so I decided to try it and it works Works on smart tv and fire tv stick this really is very cool man. Luke man you absolutely must get this running on the home page to play the background trailer in the upper right corner this would just be crazy cool man. I know there are other background videos for movies and stuff that also plays music I can't remember what they are called or where to download them right off hand but tomorrow I will find out. Great job on this man!

  22. My Emby does not work either. All I can get Emby to do is lay around in their shorts and drink beer and watch my media. It is very disconcerting and distressing.

  23. I’d like this option too, specifically for TV shows. If I’ve already watched some episodes of a show, it appears in Continue Watching. So I’d like Latest to only display new TV Shows that I haven’t started watching yet.

  24. The order of your metadata fetchers is crucial - the first one with a match is the one which identifies the show, so if you add others before that, a change of identification is possible. Lower positioned metadata sources can be used to fill in information which is missing in the first one, but there is often a danger that the arrangement of episodes and seasons is different, leading to confusion. What benefit do you hope to gain from using the Anime plugin sources? I found it gave me nothing but trouble... Paul

  25. I like how Apple TV does it by putting their initials in there instead of an icon. Similar to WMC years ago.

  26. I built an ffmpeg binary with video toolbox hwaccel and installed it over Emby's default ffmpeg. It still refuses to allow me to use it, because the detection process is closed-source. This is really pushing me towards an open source media solution.

  30. To wrap this up, it must have been the new PC set to Public on the Ethernet connection causing the issue. Once I moved this to Private and checked the port was open it started working a few minutes later after a machine reboot. After setting the new hardwired connection to private it appears to be letting the traffic all the way to the wirelessly connected emby server for all external/internal users. I didn't turn off auto UPnP or make any other rule changes or adjust anything on the server. The connection from this internal PC to the external WAN still fails though. There must be a limitation on connecting back to your own external IP that i cant change.

  31. I don't know about you guys, but I find it very helpful to know where a particular series was broadcast (by region is even better) AND what network is broadcast (primarily) on. There's been an "technical bug" in Emby since as far back as I can remember, where TV Series only have fields for "Studio", which translates to "Network" on the navigation bar. I mentioned this in a longer post about 18 months ago. Especially with Streaming Networks, it's worth dividing these two things up for both TV Series and Movies. I know this split might cause some havok for some people's libraries, though I think a simple addon that moves "Studios" to ACTUALLY "Studios" for TV Series should be something that's rather easy to code upon release. I suspect moving the fields around in the UI is probably the biggest headache. Could we take a look at this?

  32. I also think that a split of the Studio field is appropriate, especially for TV Shows. With Andor for example, Emby gets the following information from tvdb https://thetvdb.com/series/andor Disney+, Lucasfilm, YouTube, Walt Disney Company By itself, the data seems to be fine, while on the website it looks like this: Network Disney+ YouTube Studio Lucasfilm Production Company Walt Disney Company So only Lucasfilm is the actual Studio, while additional information is scraped and re-labeled as Studio. Same goes for movies. TheMovieDb.org unfortunately doesn't use these fields, they file all their entries under "Production Companies". Here's an example from tvdb for Avatar, also with more detailed information https://thetvdb.com/movies/avatar Studio 20th Century Studios Production Company 20th Century Studios Dune Entertainment Ingenious Film Partners Lightstorm Entertainment Adding the Network and the Production Company fields would help a lot, as I have 780 Studios in my TV show section and the overview isn't helping at all. As I'm using tmdb for my movie library, it would also be great to use tvdb additionally for those three fields instead of tmdb.

  33. There is now a SportsDb plugin in the Emby plugin catalog. It works with the TV content type and file naming based on the recommended file names on the SportsDb event pages. In other words, click on an event and at the bottom you will see suggested file names. I believe the entire file name gets sent to SportsDb for the lookup, which means you'll need to strictly follow these conventions or it will be unlikely to match. Enjoy.

  34. Every time someone posts there is an issue with buffering or stalling, or outright stopping, the response from emby is 'its the IPTV provider'. I think we all know that's just not true. When using VLC for example. 1. Channels start streaming almost immediately 2. I don't experience buffering 3. I don't experience the channel freezing We have all been waiting for a real live tv update, it hasn't come for years, and I think most of us don't think it will ever come. All we are asking for is some honesty and transparency. Most of us here have purchased Emby premier...we aren't leeching on Emby's work, we've paid for it. But for me in particular, I'm pretty exhausted from reading from Emby that live tv problems are always the provider's issues and not emby's, it's just not true.

  35. There are plenty of open source libraries out there for TOTP and probably even PassKeys. It's not like they have to start from scratch. Your comment on admin your users is a bit naive. No matter how careful you are, if you have users, you have zero control (or maybe very little control) over what they choose as a password. Maybe they re-use passwords (I used to, and still have a lot of old passwords that are reused, and I am a network Engineer). Sites get hacked all the time. My mom has access to my Emby server. As much as I want to trust that she would never do something stupid....well....we all have parents, so enough said. Not to say the 2fa is the gold standard in security, but it is (in my opinion) the very minimum you need in an application to consider it as a secure web app. For now, I am considering moving my server to only be accessible via my Tailscale account (VPN), but that will remove anyone who uses a Roku (currently my father in law and sister in law), as I don't think there is a Roku app for Tailscale. I have done little research though. I am unsure if AppleTV has Tailscale since I have never used one.

  36. Over time I have noticed that too. Not sure but Maybe this limitation is based on the Kodi nfo standard? because the metadata fields are based on that standard, in that regard there is no tag for network it’s just studio and at the same time other metadata scrapers (for eg. tiny media manager) uses those fields to avoid confusion and/or incompatibility between nfo files and apps.. https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/TV_shows

  37. Ok, so if I am understanding correctly, the second option is being supported, but that is not yet reflected in the UI. Am I correct? Will we eventually see a UI separation of the two types?

  38. Just my thoughts, emby's top bar on clients other than a pc have everything tucked neatly into the left side bar except the emby logo put that in the upper right corner and have the logo slowly spinning would be a great look instead of the regular.
