For those with the problem try this version. I'm still not done but for now this will at least help a lot. EmbyIcons.dll3 points

Could we add a function of "Actor Management"? It should allow browsing all actors by their first letter and managing their corresponding information. Also, it should enable viewing all the movies an actor has participated in here.2 points

Posted too soon, found solution. For anyone wondering in the future, it's a library setting. Library > Collections > Fetcher Settings > Maximum number of backdrops per item.2 points

@@Luke stated in a previous post (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/49933-replaygain-music-support/) adding support for this could easily be done for at least the theater client seeing as the player used already supports replaygain. I'm making this feature request in hopes that this support is added, as I have no dev experience myself1 point

Hi, I was thinking that it would be great if the original movie title would be shown on the main movie page. below the localized one.1 point

maybe not quite the right topic/subcategory but I find the splash screen of the Windows app (client version) very special and would like to see it again as a screensaver for the LG client app1 point

If the fix doesn't work I will go back to the last good one and add the new features. I'm really sorry about it as it should just f.ing work. Thank you all for the testing!!1 point

哇……终于! 大概一两年前我也提出过这样的功能建议,但是不记得什么原因,那时就一直没有实现,现在我依然和你一样希望可以在一个页面上浏览所有演员,这是一个很基础的功能,我不明白为什么一直没有1 point

It's still repeatable for me. I'm running the latest iPadOS 26.0 Developer Beta (shows iPadOS is up to date). Version iPadOS 26.0 (23A5318f) - Developer Beta Baseline - physically restarted iPad WiFi disabled (offline/downloaded content being tested) Launched Emby 2.2.41 - selected Downloads Launched content Perhaps coincidental - enabled subtitles and changed playback speed to 1.25x Crashed and rebooted soon thereafter. Repeated steps above and went to 1.50x speed. It lasted a bit longer and crashed/rebooted. Repeated steps above with different content (to rule out something file-specific). It crashed/rebooted.1 point

Okay, found something really minor in v3.51.9... Cleared cache, and after running the Icon Manager, it shows Custom Tags that are needed. For example, "tag.babylon 5.png". According to the Readme section, any spaces in Custom Tag names need to be replaced with dashes? Because of that assumption, I do have an icon "tag.babylon-5.png". That icon is showing up on on movie/series posters. However, the Icon Manager lists the "tag.babylon-5.png" icon as being unused. Seems like the plugin is using the hyphenated name Custom Tags, just not acknowledging that the icon exists and therefore list them again as "needed". It's nothing that breaks functionality, but someone could get confused and double up trying to solve the discrepancy...1 point

Yes, i think i wrote you about it, I made it have built in icons precisely so people in your situation would be able to get it to work. No, my plugin does not show banners like that.1 point

You are basically describing a ORM in almost every other language. It's been ages since I have heard refer to an ORM as a DAL, because it's just a subset of what an ORM provides. The ORM of choice for most dotnet projects is EFCore (https://github.com/dotnet/efcore/), but moving to that is quite a significant effort. Probably in the order of months of a single developer's dedicated time & focus. As an example, Jellyfin has been moving towards it for more than a year now (counting the development time). Testing with the initial merge of the movement to EFCore has been happening since Nov. 2024. And this is all with basically no other significant feature added on the server side in the meanwhile. I don't think Emby can afford such a long pause for any new functionality, especially when there are a lot more impactful and demanded feature requests still open: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/forum/98-feature-requests/&sortby=forums_topics_reactions.topic_reactions&sortdirection=desc.1 point

And +1 Support for ReplayGain. The only reason, I am still using emby is because the organization of music by album, album artist, track artist ... is working nearly perfectly in my opinion. Plex is really awful, i don't know why everyone is praising Plex to the skies. And Jellyfin also has some flaws (but not that awful as Plex). But both, Plex and Jellyfin do support ReplayGain for a long time now. I expect there are a lot users, who are eager to get RePlayGain support, but have resigned because nothing happend in the last 8 years since the first feature request.1 point

Slightly different. In the first one i had temporally disabled the profile system. On the other i had fixed unnecessary banner and thumb drawing the plugin might have done.1 point

Thank you ! For anyone wondering you also have to be in the web app. The apps don't show this option even with server beta yet.1 point

Hello, I just switched over from plex to emby because I got fed up with photo libraries. I thought to give emby a shot for photos only. I'm just performing an initial scan of my library (4500 videos, 72k photos). I noticed that emby is rather slow on this initial scan and it's mostly performing sequential video scan via ffmpeg. Is there any reason why this is not done in multiple parallel threads to speed up things? My server has 6 cores but is rather bored CPU-wise and also not exhausted I/O-wise. I believe it could handle 2-4 more parallel ffmpeg calls. kr1 point

I'll know soon. Im not physically there so worst case scenario i just reset that tv and set it to usa store. which is not a big deal or just buy another nvidea shield (or roku) device and set that up before i go there. I'll ask my significant other to check since she is there.1 point

I know this is an old request, but I'd like to see it go one step further and actually offer channels that are currently being streamed/recorded to the user to watch when no tuners are available.1 point

Hi, there's already an open request for this or something functionally equivalent. Please join in and contribute to the existing discussion at:1 point

I'm pretty sure that's like, your opinion. While I agree it takes away from the experience, people are free to do whatever they want. I.e.: I like to watch South Park. Uncensored. My kids like South Park because it's a cartoon, let's censor it a little bit Regardless, a consistent solution to this issue would be to have an additional audio track that contains the original audio but is censored. After Googling a bit I found a bunch of tools that claim to be able to scan audio files and censor them like Cursecut, Cleanvoice AI or maybe Bleep That Sh*t!. Feed these a separate (copy) of the original audio and let them do their work. Call it "original-censored.mp4" or whatever and feed it as a separate audio track.1 point

Hello guys , im using DUNE HD 4k PRO VISION which is linux based system and has android system installed on top of it. long story short i installed Emby for Android TV , the problem is the Emby Player doesnt play any HD audio codecs like DOLBY TrueHD 7.1 or DTS-HD the video would start but doesnt play and has no audio at all , just frozen. the only solution is to enable "Use External player for Videos" in the playback settings menu and would just play the movie using KODI or DUNE or VLC or any other player. my small request is : can we please add a feature in EMBY to have the Use External player for Videos on demand with each video (like right click , open in external player) in addition to keeping it in the playback settings as it currently is. thanks in advance guys , this would really be appreciated1 point

– Genre Cover Generator – Nie wieder hässliche Genre-Bilder! So I've looked in the FR's for 'Search' tag and can't see this anywhere obvious. I was surprised that External ID's (IMDB, TMDB etc) are not included in the search results ? ie if I put 'tt0088763' in the search box, I was expecting to get 'Back to the Future' listed .. but I get back no results at all. The local metadata clearly has the ID's listed and available - so can we please include this in a global search ? Thanks.1 point

@LukeIs it possible to get the books feature on the enhancements requests? Could it be on the product timeline?1 point

Hi guys. I have found that most systems (Kodi, Plex, etc) don't have a great way to handle Music Videos, but I get the best results with Emby when using .nfo files to store the metadata. I originally set things up to work across Kodi and Emby, but have used Emby almost exclusively now that Theater has the ability to shuffle, filter and sort the based on year, genre, etc. My music videos show up in the music video library and also under the artists in the music section. I guess the trick is to make sure that Emby picks up the artist metadata. I don't think this is the only way to do it, but here is my setup: Folder which contains all music videos File naming: artist name - title.ext ("The Cure - Just Like Heaven.mp4") I use MediaMonkey ( http://www.mediamonkey.com)to add the meta data (artist, album, genres, year, album art, etc.) and to automate the file naming/location I then use a MediaMonkey script to output a .nfo file with the same naming convention (The Cure - Just Like Heaven.nfo) for each video (https://github.com/scott967/Music-video-nfo-generator) The .nfo file could also be generated or changed using a simple text editor The format of the .nfo file can follow Kodi conventions (https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/Music_videos) Personally, I don't like nesting the video files in an artist folder - I keep it a flat structure (all music video files and nfo's in the same folder). This is a personal preference and it shouldn't effect the way the system reads the nfo metadata. The advantage to keeping a flat structure is that I can go to the Music Videos collection to see all the videos sorted by year (or whatever I choose) and then filter/shuffle/make a playlist without having to go into each artist folder to find tracks. If I want to see videos sorted by artist, I go into the music section or search to find and artist, and all of the videos are there (listed at the bottom of the page). Music Video files are small enough that you should be able to just create a test folder with a few videos and add it as a new Music Video library to see which way you prefer. Use notepad to throw in a simple .nfo with artist, genre, and year tags and see if it works for you. Another way to do this may be editing each file's metadata using the Emby metadata manager, but I find that using a .nfo file keeps everything centralized and tends to work cross-platform (Kodi, Plex, etc). If I edit a field in MeidaMonkey, it's super easy to just re-run the .nfo script and it overwrites the previous one. Just as a side note, I don't make .nfo files for any other type of media. Emby's online metadata sources work great for movies and TV (Music is touchy but it works if you fuss with it). Nobody seems to handle Music Videos great, but Emby comes closest. I haven't played with the IMVDB metadata import because I like my setup and they still have big gaps in their database - but it's a good start and I'm glad it's there.1 point
