  1. It'd be nice to have, like on the queue view, an animated icon for quickly locating the track that is currently being played. In this case, the 4th one.

  2. In my family it is me (a 79yo great grandparent) who runs an Emby server and gives the younger family members access to it. They seem to cope without a kiosk mode... Paul

  3. I personally find the quantity not being display in the list views to be really annoying. Whenever I want to see how many entries are in a specific filter (genre, tags, etc) I tend to switch my phone's browser to desktop mode and check it there. Whenever I'm working on frontend stuff I tend to keep the rule that any usable components do not change position and do not become toggle without the user's interaction. Whatever is displayed stays displayed and whatever is hidden stays hidden. That rule really helps building consistent interfaces. It would be really nice to "always" display it. Besides, most phones are > 320px nowadays, unlike before when they were the rule they're now the exception.

  4. I agree, this seems to be an oversight of sorts. Personally I'd prefer the title to become the active accent colour (Emby green in the default theme).

  6. New release (5.31.6) Same as i uploaded before, just with a version bump and release statement to make it official! Bug fix: 1 . Fixed the aggregation running every time the Emby start page was entered. This will make the start page load faster. --- Thank you for reporting the bug so it could be fixed! Download here or on Github - EmbyIcons EmbyIcons.dll

  7. Is there plans on the roadmap for OpenID. I have searched but not found any indication this is in development. With many admins taking up SSO through Authelia or Authentik to enhance security it would be great for Emby to support it. One of the easier open standards is OpenID which the aforementioned support. Users could continue to use LDAP if they wish while others can use the arguably better SSO experience.

  8. Given the vast list of wonderful improvements that have accumulated in the 4.9 beta and the modest tweaks reported in the release notes for the latest 4.9.0.33 beta, here is a fervent plea that the Emby devs push this latest v4.9 as a stable release now, for benefit of the vast majority of Emby users who don't install beta versions.

  10. So you need a locked down client. Great project, I guess. But why not create it your self "Emby Picture Kiosk" The API is there for your usage.

  11. It would be so great to have 3d native running on emby, projectors headsets all streaming clients this would be really great.

  12. Just my take, but it would be easier for the Emby team to develop the apps for different platforms as that is what they are really good at. Get a Shield Pro and an Ugoos device and choose between the two what media you want to play using which box. You will find that the majority will be via the Shield and if you need DV use the Ugoo. Easy to switch the inputs on the AV Amp or display device. No hassle with hardware upkeep or the worry that the device manufacturer goes belly up. But stay with what you are best at, developing and improving features in a play back software for your media collection.

  14. @chowbok, I personally create a NFO file based on other metadata fetchers and then have emby pick it up when it scans the folder. Details below (though I have now transitioned to using folders for each "video" in order to keep custom images with the item).

  15. Yes. To be sure, I would go to the Premiere page and blank out and re-enter the key to force a current validation while connected to the hot spot.

  16. I forgot to mention that the force logoff function is also missing in Emby for Android. In Emby for TV, I can set it to log out after 30 minutes. Emby also closes if I turn off the TV (Chromecast), but neither of these things happen with Emby for Android. The app does not close when the TV is turned off, nor does it automatically log out at any point.

  17. My issue with using the Emby for Android app instead of the Emby for Android TV app on a TV is that it's a lot more cumbersome to use in a household with kids. The adult profiles have a PIN, which is fine. The kids' profile has a password, but no PIN. The Android TV app always displays the login screen when it starts up, but you can still switch to the kids profile without entering the password. Unfortunately, this isn't something the Emby for Android app can do. If you select "Remember me," the startup behavior in the settings is changed to "remember last user" instead of "show login screen". If you switch back to " show login screen" manually, the kids profile will always need a password when you log in. This is pretty frustrating. Can the behavior of the for TV app be adapted here so that when logging in for the first time, it is also possible to switch to the profile without having to re-enter the password but also without having to enter a PIN?

  18. I went through all my libraries to let the plugin generate the images after the upgrade to the latest version and loading time of the startpage is a lot better now after doing that! Thanks!

  19. Good morning, I'm sorry to hear you're in the same boat as the rest of us. If you're looking for a meaningful response from Luke, just take a look at the responses given by him(or his AI) in this thread, then you'll see how hopeless this situation is. Honestly, I'm not sure what's going on, this isn't the Luke I know from 2019 (when I first became a patron), he was so driven and an absolute Beast at getting things done; he certainly has the skills and the talented staff to back him up, maybe things have gotten too big and their whole team is inundated with work, OR, maybe they just lost the "eye of the tiger" and are on the schneid. If you can return your B580 maybe that's the best scenario for you given the lack of progress, drive, and desire made by the emby development team since 2024 when this card first hit the market. Have a great day.

  20. Yeah using imaginary numbers isn't really the way. I think a more "permanent" solution would be to use more zeros in your filenames. This should keep files nice and sorted but still keep the real season/episode numbers: S00E0004 - Webisodes - Blackmail S00E0251 - Webisodes - Blackmail - extra - Creed's Anti-China Rant S05E0011 - Scott's Tots S09E0002 - Roy's Wedding From a "sorting" point of view, these can now all be equally sorted. This is because theirs lengths (literal length in characters) is the same and there are no dots or spaces in the way. The system will still treat the above as: Season 0 - Episode 4 Season 0 - Episode 254 Season 5 - Episode 11 Season 9 - Episode 2 You might not even need to go into the thousands on your episode number, the Office is done now right? So if there isn't going to be a thousand episodes within a single season of a show, this formatting should be enough: S00E004 - Webisodes - Blackmail S00E251 - Webisodes - Blackmail - extra - Creed's Anti-China Rant S05E011 - Scott's Tots S09E002 - Roy's Wedding For normal shows (under 100 episodes per season) you can use this formatting: "S01E01 - Episode name"

  21. yes, Kodi is one of the free clients. You have two options for Kodi addons that support Emby as a media playback source, well 3 if you want to include DLNA

  22. Yes. It actually helped me with a post I made on 07/09 about group tags. This pretty much accomplishes what I was wanting to do then. Maybe better even. I did notice 1 thing.....when I removed the initial movie to create the Collection, the People section became a hyperlink and I could see an expanded list. As is now with the movie I'm back to a scrolling list of People but that works ok.

  23. I can't tell a huge difference on reloads between this one and the last one, but the initial load after reboot was slower on this one it feels like. Not a huge deal. Edit: Scratch that, browser cache had me again. After clearing cache it feels faster.

  26. Hi, indeed this helps me re-organize my specials the way I wanted. Thanks for the tip. Another solution I had found was to rename the file from S00E04 to something like S00E300 (with a number that doesn't exist on TVDB) so that Emby wouldn't recognize it and therefore treat it as a normal special. Of course, this means you'd lose metadata info from TVDB (such as the description), but you could manually copy this from TVDB.

  27. Hi. Periodic internet access will be required for any Premiere functionality. This would include any of the TV apps, perhaps, minus the Apple TV or Roku at this time. We have people who successfully use the system mostly disconnected and just make sure that they can connect periodically to validate. We have one moderator who lives primarily on a ship .

  28. Ok then it will be that subs + remux. I always only use .srt subs, they are so much lighter that PGS, DVD and other picture based subs. Text based subs are best for streaming use like Emby.

  29. My assumption is that some kind of surround pass through is being forced and then the system looses control of volume... It happened to me on Jellyfin as well before

  33. Hi, I had a very similar problem a couple of months ago when I needed to replace my modem/router and essentially set up a whole new home network. (Though, I am using a Windows PC for the Emby Server, and a Synology NAS for media storage, not Mac.) After connecting all devices, Emby would work correctly on the PC, but I could not cast to my TV or music player (or even see the endpoint devices in the cast options). Also, Emby Android on the TV would not see the server, despite manually entering the server address correctly. The problem was that Windows, with the new network, was now blocking Emby from getting through the firewall. I found this by going into the Windows Settings>Privacy & security>Firewall & network settings. (I'm not a networking expert so can't really provide more specific details and a MacOS setup would be different anyway.) I also have dynamic IP addresses, but have not had any more issues (so far, for in-home use) since adjusting the firewall settings and giving Emby permission. I found out how to fix my problem via the green "Connection Help" section shown in your previous screenshot. Perhaps checking your firewall settings is something to try, if you haven't already?
